to think that rich people are disgraceful? PART 1

mynob · 11/08/2009 18:13

I'm thinking about actual people I know....

They live in a big house with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. I think their dcs should share so that homeless people can be housed in the extra space.

They have 2 cars - this is obviously bad for the environment and what's wrong with public transport (in my country everyone uses PT).

My friend buys Dolce and Gabbana handbags and Hello magazine. I think she could do perfectly well with a Tesco Bag for Life and Take a Break - the brazen hussy!

Her fridge is filled with Waitrose ready meals and Chardonnay. Her poor children are deprived of home cooked food! I bet they are SOOO relieved when they get back to boarding school.

I get so cross with her when she doesn't take up my suggestion to turn 1 of her several acres of land into an organic vegetable patch instead of installing a swimming pool.

I just don't get how people make such bad choices!

I know we are awful

Northernlurker · 11/08/2009 22:43

Mynob - could you just refuse to tell us a bit about your choices and instead insist that you do know best.

everythingistaken · 11/08/2009 22:47

is this the o.p off the other thread complaining about " poor people"

deaddei · 11/08/2009 22:50

Rich people should never shop in charity shops- they should leave it for the poor people.

mynob · 12/08/2009 07:41

No she never sets foot in a charity shop.
Even her knickers have designer labels. It's obscene really.

Hi Fluffy! She's still having tests (but she's been assigned a GI Specialist Nurse - not sure if that bodes ill or not).

How are you?

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 12/08/2009 13:36

I'm OK. I think the lumbar puncture was positive as the neurologist has referred me to the MS specialist in another city, he said he'd only do this if the test showed MS. My feet are really tingly/burning at the moment. Great! Could be worse.
Is your mum managing to put on weight now?

ElieRM · 12/08/2009 13:57

mynob- can we ask where your country of origin is? or would that be racist/relevant?

teamcullen · 12/08/2009 16:11

Ooo Ive just been redircted here from another thread by somebody with a very similar name. Do you know her Mynob? shes very well educated, PHDs in everything apparently.

Of course she has the right to whatever opinions she wants as she is part of the superior race, maybe she can answer your question.

Something Im not allowed, as being poor and buying my DCs shop bought bday cakes, Ive been striped of my fredom of speech.

KingRolo · 12/08/2009 16:14

Daytime wine?

Blimey, I need to find me a rich man.

bleh · 12/08/2009 16:22

Your DF sends her DCs to BOARDING SCHOOL?! and you let her? Surely she should be sending them to the local comp. What kind of interfering weirdo friend are you!?

mynobshamster · 12/08/2009 16:38

Mynob - your mum says that you have to come down for your tea and that if she finds you on mumsnet again she's grounding you.

OrmIrian · 12/08/2009 16:39

What is daytime wine? Is that cold tea?

Ninkynork · 12/08/2009 16:43

It was on a found shopping list along with Night-time Wine. There was speculation that it was some new invention that takes the edge off time spent with pre-school aged DC but doesn't smell on the school run. Wish it existed!

curiositykilled · 12/08/2009 17:53

just marking my place... waiting for this to become nybom's part 3.

pickyvic · 12/08/2009 18:15

had to chuckle at OPs user name....v good! i dont mind threads about threads and if a piss take is warranted then why not - i abstained on the other thread!

mumoverseas · 12/08/2009 18:48

-mos peers out of the net curtains of her 5 bedroom house with two cars in her driveway and wonders whether OP is one of her poorer neighbours whilst sewing name tags on DCs clothes ready for them to go back to boarding school

mynobshamster · 12/08/2009 19:18

come on Mynob - are you too busy cutting up fruit?

Sn0wflake · 12/08/2009 19:28

Well I think your neighbours are positively common.... Caviar and champers every lunch time are in order I say. Also a really expensive coke habit is absolutely essential.

curiositykilled · 12/08/2009 20:12

On part 2: portofino thinks she knows nybom. She won't share as she doesn't want to out her but she says her background is not in Sociology.

Portofino · 12/08/2009 20:24

I'm sure I'm going to get into trouble!

teamcullen · 12/08/2009 20:58

yey... part two thread is dead Any bets before part 3 gets posted?
