Poledra · 10/08/2009 21:39

Don't you think there is something a bit, well, wrong in Sporticus' relationship with the irritating pink one? It's not healthy......

LetThemEatCake · 10/08/2009 21:39

can anyone please explain the popularity of Mr Tumble/ Justin

Overmydeadbody · 10/08/2009 21:40

Nooo Mollie, it is just so repetatively boring.

I just found out Lazytowwn originated in Iceland, that explains the Eurovision style music and dancing.

K999 · 10/08/2009 21:43

I love Something Special as me and dds all try and sign....its such good fun.

Overmydeadbody · 10/08/2009 21:43

just found this:

Magnus Scheving is the creator of the show "LazyTown" and he plays the role of Sportacus in the show. He is also a famous Icelandic Athlete and is the CEO, creator, and co-founder of LazyTown Entertainment.

Ok, he has officially lost all sex appeal to me. He is the one to blame for this drivvel on tv!!!!! I like a man with brain as well as brawns personally.

LetThemEatCake · 10/08/2009 21:43

I just wiki'd it - that pink girl is from New York - quelle surprise - and Sporticus is a grandfather in RL!!

blissa · 10/08/2009 21:45

I've had a thing for sportacus for a while, I just ignore the stupid moustache! Not seen those photos before tho YUM

Me Too and that Suigglet thing are worse IMHO!

MollieO · 10/08/2009 21:47

OMDB I think you will find that Mr Scheving is a very wealthy man indeed. Lazytown is syndicated the world over. I'm happy with brawn and no brain or anything really.

Grandfather? He must have started young. He is my age. We are not old!

LetThemEatCake · 10/08/2009 21:48

he's 44!!!

or forty-phwoar, if you will.

geordieminx · 10/08/2009 21:48

In this house we love nina and the neurons, Charlie and Lola and Mr Maker.. we only live about 10 mins from the sciene centre were N&N is filmed, ds thinks they live there

Big cook little cook is also a favourite, as is Balamory and Me too - although thats because we live in Glasgow, granny lives in Newcastle so ds is starting to recognise some of the landmaks.

He also likes Brum for some reason but I cant stand it, I didnt when it was on the first time a million years ago.

I also agree with K990 that pingu is very funny.

We hate hate hate timmy time, lazy town.

I dont think I would ever get sick of kicking Carrie and David and their wanky pop shop though... and while we are on, could the fezzin mingers perhaps consider changing their clothes once in a while.

We are missing Boo, Boogie Beebies and most of all Higgledy House, none of which seem to have been on for ages.

Rant over

Overmydeadbody · 10/08/2009 21:50

yep he is over 40yrs old

and stephanie is 18 now lol

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 10/08/2009 21:50

and here they are, sans pink wig, sans pencil moustachio thing

HappyMummyOfOne · 10/08/2009 21:51

I love Lazytown and definately would entertain Sportacus

Hate Toddsworld, Night Garden and Numberjacks but luckily DS is too old for them now.

Overmydeadbody · 10/08/2009 21:53

lol yes he is very wealthy. It is the character Sporticus that I have a problem with really, rather than the man behind it.

I do hate the show. I don't care how succesful it is, I hate it.

And to me, a 44yr old is old

OP posts:
Overmydeadbody · 10/08/2009 21:54

this is a bit wrong isn't it?

FlightHattendant · 10/08/2009 21:58

Oh heck yes
that's shocking.

The other pic is nice. She is v giggly, I saw her on Parkinson or something. Nice girl. But that is a dodgy pic.

LetThemEatCake · 10/08/2009 21:59

bet she was posing for Sportacus.

ugh, I agree - have never been able to watch / let ds watch Lazytown as it's just too wierd and creepy. As are those guys from Big Cook Little Cook - it's a good concept, but they are seriously not people that should be presenting children's programmes.
also, ditto what letthemeeatcake said - what's the attraction of Justin/Mr Tumble?

I like numberjacks - ds only just 2 but can recognise some numbers now, but it's true - anything can happen - it's a bit frightening!

Spottyotter · 10/08/2009 22:04

Those big cook little cook boys always look like they've just walked into work after a 3 day bender, do you not think?
Cannot bear that one with the singing.... Pop shop? Makes me feel a bit sick.
And the pirate one?? With all the random songs they put on there. Have never been able to make head nor tail of that one.
We love timmytime and waybuloo, though.

LetThemEatCake · 10/08/2009 22:18

oh god, yes - Space Pirates!! Explain!!????

Having worked in a cafe in my time, I am amazed that cafe is still open. Only one customer per day, it takes them bloody hours to make the pathetic thing that they make, no money ever changes hands, and they have to think long and hard before they remember to look in "Big Cook's Cookery Book! Of Course! There's recipes for everything in there! And where do we look for things to cook? in the book! In the book! In Big Cook's Book!"

All accompanied by terrifying gyrations and mugging.

also - the CBeebies seasonal singsong thingys - this summer's one is soooooo crap compared to last summer's. albeit more realistic. (rain)

NancysGarden · 10/08/2009 22:34

very funny and so true. Although big cook little cook is one of my LO's faves. At least she doesn't actually like LazyTown or Popshop, agree it's puke-worthy. How did cbeebies end up with the likes of those and those bloody space pirates (mind you, Tommy Zoom and Lunar Jim are not far off either in my book)

notsoteenagemum · 10/08/2009 22:43

LetThemEatCake I am crying with laughter at your description of BCLC's 'terrifying gyrations and mugging'.

Have they ever made anything remotely edible?

sheepgomeep · 10/08/2009 22:50

I love waybuloo really chills me and dd2 out, my 7 year old dd1 likes it as well strangely enough

nightgarden is ace.

My 9 year old ds is not above making up rude lyrics to big cook little cook out of earshot to the girls of course

K999 · 10/08/2009 22:53

Does it go ...."big cock, little cock"?? cos I sing that too, and sometimes the dds are sitting there...
