To want to jack in my new job asap now I have found a better one?

Would like some perspective on this please? I recently found a new job working school hours but also all through the summer holidays. Initially I wanted to start in September, but instead I started in June as they wanted someone straightaway. I know I am very lucky to find a job in this climate, and I am also saving up the pennies as ds starts prep school in sept and I need to cover the fees and need to work to do this.

The problem is I hate the job, no atmosphere and the boss is pretty miserable. I started looking around again and found a miracle school job starting in September term time only -- very lucky I know!!!!!!!!

I need to give 1 week notice during first three months. I feel really guilty about leaving them in the lurch, but also feel like I am missing spending the summer holidays with ds.

If I carry on til end of August (giving notice a week before) then I help the school fee fund but miss summer with ds?

What would you do? Advice much appreciated?

Could you not leave a bit earlier so as to spend time with DS ???

Give your notice and go now. Honestly, a summmer with your ds is far more important.

Must admit I would go! Its horrible working somewhere you hate, spend the summer with your DS, and start the new job in September - enjoy

sorry, meant to add that am only working 10 hours a week at this job, but also work elsewhere so only really getting 1.5 days a week with ds during summer hols?

Just feel like I should work longer ..money wise but torn ds wise?

The sooner you leave, the more chance they have of contacting someone else who applied at the same time that you did IYSWIM. Their second choice applicant might even be still available. If you can afford it, go sooner rather than later.
