Well actually I don't want them to watch it, but apparently their mum loves it and watches it with them.

We've got DP's niece (12) and nephews (11 and 16) for the week. We got back from the beach about 8, I made dinner and just took it in to them. They were watching The Inbetweeners. Just as I walked in the room, I heard the words, 'get her to drink this, she'll be frothing at the gash'

Well they said their mum always watched it with them. That applies to two of them. The other is brought up by DP's mum, I'm pretty sure she lets him watch anything.

Ooo- hard one! I really like the Inbetweeners- like its light touch and v silly teenage boys- but was when my 10 year old said he'd overheard someone screaming "Arrrgh! I cut my cock!" while he was in bed... I'd be absolutely fine with a 16 y.o. watching it but not so sure about 11 and 12 year olds. More that I'd be worried about them repeating the slightly rude bits over and over again (my boy was vastly amused at a cut cock and immediately told his brother whereupon the 2 of them giggled for hours on end ) than it's offensiveness per se but still. Does the 16 y o confirm that the younger 2 are allowed to watch it?

I would let the 16yo watch it, but not the other 2. Dh is with me on this and we watch it all the time (sniggering like teenagers)

Frankly I've given up trying to change anything after a week of them. I've worn nothing but judging pants since they arrived.

Their mum is lovely. The 12 year old niece doesn't seem very interested in it although she is in the room and will hear it. Perhaps boys just love giggling over knob jokes.

I just talked to DP about it and he says he is not bothered by swearing. Today in the car they were all giggling and the 16 year old said 'stupid bitch' about the lady in the car next us on the road. I immediately told him that was out of order and DP backed me up - but how is it OK to show so much disrespect.

I find it depressing.
