Drinking another mammals milk. WTF is all that about?

Why would anyone want to do such a thing?

And past weaning unecessary and slightly disgusting.

I think it should be stopped.

If you bf and get mastitis you give your child you own pus.

Thunderduck · 28/07/2009 19:49

More than a little hypocritical I think.

CybilLiberty · 28/07/2009 19:49

Do you pop water on your cereal Eccentrica?

psychomum5 · 28/07/2009 19:50

oh ice cold milk was once my nectar.....

it now tries to kill me, so I am with you on the revolting!

Ripeberry · 28/07/2009 19:50

Also be glad you don't have to have a 'Masai Milkshake' in this country

EccentricaGallumbits · 28/07/2009 19:51

don't eat cereal at all because of the disgusting milk connotation.

Goats wuld be the same. What is the point of drinking something aimed t sustaining a mamalian baby?

OP posts:
differentID · 28/07/2009 19:52

I love a glass of ice cold milk or a big mug of thick milky hot chocolate. yum.

Morloth · 28/07/2009 19:52

Because you have a mamalian body? Or are you a reptile?

Morloth · 28/07/2009 19:53

Ah, sorry missed the baby bit thought you said body.

EccentricaGallumbits · 28/07/2009 19:54

Obvosly if yu are a mammal baby you need milk for susenance. but not if you are an adult and ever weirder to want to drink the milk of a different species.

why does waitrose not sell horse milk? or dolphin milk?

OP posts:
Morloth · 28/07/2009 19:55

Dunno, I would try it.

Morloth · 28/07/2009 19:56

Must be a bitch to try and milk a dolphin though.

msled · 28/07/2009 19:56

I don't like milk myself and understand the ugh factor but I do think you are being silly. There is no mucus and pus is just another word for white blood cells, which exist aplenty in breast milk, for example, and are vital part of the health benefits of breast milk.
Milk is a very healthy food. Kids who drink milk and eat cheese etc have a hugely reduced risk of disease in later life.

alardi · 28/07/2009 19:57

It is disgusting. And the treatment of cows to produce it is APPALLING.
But, it's no worse than eating meat.
And I really don't like soymilk in my tea. Plus I am a complete cheese addict, sigh.
Plus I love the taste of cow's milk.
Alardi skips off merrily to the disgusting hypocrite's corner.

Thunderduck · 28/07/2009 19:57

I'm sorry but you eat cheese and you're complaining about people who drink milk?

You are still consuming the milk of another species.

Thunderduck · 28/07/2009 19:58

Because no one can hold their breath long enough to milk a dolphin.

TrillianAstra · 28/07/2009 19:58

I looove milk.

YABVU.

Morloth · 28/07/2009 19:58

Plus also, where would you put the bucket?

EccentricaGallumbits · 28/07/2009 19:58

Puss is ctually the product infection. not just white blood cells which does indeed exist in milk.
i'm sure there are disgustinglinks to the effects of mass production of milk and untreated mastitis in cows but i can't be arsed to look for tem.

the fact is. it is disgusting.

OP posts:
CybilLiberty · 28/07/2009 19:59

ooh look perhaps we can have both

foxinsocks · 28/07/2009 19:59

ooh morloth, I also love double cream in my coffee. Especially if someone's sneaked a tot of whisky in first .

it's hens eggs that get me the most. Eating something else's 'period' (kind of) .

Ripeberry · 28/07/2009 20:00

Mmmmm....Masai Milkshake. Coming to a Tescos' near you!

EccentricaGallumbits · 28/07/2009 20:00

dunno. perhaps some sort of suction bottle sealed to keepthe seawater out?

i did say i know it is somewhat hypocrytical for me t be a cheese addict. inever claimed i was being logical.

i do think it is disgusting to drink milk.

OP posts:
KingRolo · 28/07/2009 20:01

Mmmm... milky, milky.

EccentricaGallumbits · 28/07/2009 20:02

jeez don't get me on to eggs.

why would anyone want to eat an ovum? or any sort of pre-embryotic thingy?

saying that i do like eggs,as long as tey are well cooked or in cake.

can't bear them raw.
