To make roast potatoes , and only roast potatoes for dinner tonight?

well, am I??

been to the beach this afternoon , had a late and large picnic. Have a yearning for roasties.

DD looks as though she is going to fall asleep any minute, and DS is stuffed to the gills and DH is eating at a friends later...

so, am I unreasonable to make lovely, golden, crispy roast potatoes, sprinkled with some rock salt, to eat in front of the computer , for dinner??

I would have dipped in sime chilli sauce a la Toby Carvery [slightly Jeremy Kyle smiley]

Morloth · 27/07/2009 19:59

YABU, I don't have any potatoes to roast and in any case they make me fat. So if I can't have any I don't see why anyone else should be enjoying themselves.

OK. Now I need to know how you do proper home made roast potatoes, and eat them, in 61 minutes. [piercing glare]

Thunderduck · 27/07/2009 20:11

I've just had my first ever fishfinger sandwich which was delicious but now I'm craving potatoes thanks to you. Ideally boiled and with garlic butter.

I want another one actually.

I had it with mozzarella and a little ketchup. I don't care how gross it sounds, it was delicious, besides the application of cheese improves everything.

PerArduaAdRectumIriPoena · 27/07/2009 20:20

I am completely full and yet craving both fish fingers and roast potatoes. Grrr....

Bibelots · 27/07/2009 20:34

I am currently stuffing half a packet of jaffa cakes plus a bottle of sparkling elderflower, some pringle and chilli sauce. It's my anniversary so I though I had better make myself desirable for DH.

JackBauer · 27/07/2009 20:39

Your first ever fishfinger sandwich?

You poor deprived child Thunderduck!

Thunderduck · 27/07/2009 20:41

I know. But I intend to make up for lost time.

MiniMarmite · 28/07/2009 19:26

Thunderduck - was it the fishfinger thread that did it? I have to confess that I bought them for the first time ever yesterday...have actually admitted it on the ff thread yet though!

Thunderduck · 28/07/2009 19:27

It was actually.

Morloth · 28/07/2009 19:34

Mozzarella is a bit posh for fish finger sandwiches. I hope at least that you had el cheapo white bread?

MiniMarmite · 28/07/2009 19:41

Thunderduck!

And I meant I've NOT admitted it yet!

Thunderduck · 28/07/2009 20:11

Well it was white bread but not exactly cheap.

I'm going to have another one tomorrow.
