when he complained this morning that he couldn't believe he only had one birthday present. Even though he had breakfast in bed (including his favourite smoked salmon spread on toasted bagel); lots of cards from family members and is going out for a very expenive meal tonight (his birthday present from me). So I wrapped up the weekend Guardian and shoved it up his *rse. Was that unreasonable?

That depends. Had you read the paper first?

Overmydeadbody · 25/07/2009 16:10

YANBU

childish and materialistic of him

Tiredmumno1 · 25/07/2009 16:10

Pmsl, tell him to grow up, he is no longer a child.

shootfromthehip · 25/07/2009 16:11

Not unreasonable at all- the world seems to be full of ungrateful people at the moment (well my world anyway ).

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 25/07/2009 16:12

yanbu

But I complained when I only got one present once so maybe a bit u?

Thunderduck · 25/07/2009 16:13

And no you are most definitely not being unreasonable.

Best place for the Guardian IMO. Would have been a waste of The Times.

Did you get breakfast in bed and dinner out on your birthday?

DH once complained that his present from me was a bit dull.
Me: "Do you think it's better or worse than what you gave me on my birthday?"
Him: "I don't know, what did I give you?"
Me: "Nothing."
Him: "Oh, probably better than that then."
No more complaints.

Shoving a Times up anyone's backside would be too cruel.

Thanks for the support! He's sulking in the allotment this afternoon while I'm dissing him on MN. I think this may actually be the beginning of his mid life crisis!
