to be annoyed that DH hasn't phoned

He is on a corporate jolly and has been gone since 8am.

I told him to stay at his Dad's tonight as it is closer and I don't want him rolling in pissed and waking me up.

I'm quite happy - wine, ice-cream, film BUT I'm pissed off he hasn't phoned ALL day to see how we are. DS1 had an awful bedtime last night and today has had no tv, no treats, and his bedroom toys confiscated - he could at least have rung to see how bedtime went this evening.

DS2 is 5 months old and I haven't been out on my own since he has been born. I don't begrudge DH going out (honest) but I would like a bit more sucking up/best wife sticker.

Or should I just let him enjoy his day away from us.

let him enjoy his night out and then ask for the extra speacially very best wife sticker after that? i can imagine its hard from what you say but he's probably a bit pissed and being sidetracked by other people so its just not crossed his mind?
enjoy your wine and ice cream and think about arranging a night out with your friends when he can look after the kids instead.

Oh, just let him enjoy himself!
Then you can do the same asap.
Sometimes, directions to phone home can really break the mood when you are doing your own thing.

I have the other problem. A dh who works abroad and wants a long leisurely phone conversation every damned night at about 5:30 when I come in, exhausted from work, with two knackered kids from the childminder's, who want all my attention.

I quick simple call/txt to check all is ok then he can relax on his jollies. V. selfish but if its a one off then let him off with it, and revel in the anticipation of the lie-in you are definately entitled to tomorrow.
