to think that the person who left an axe on the beach for a group of children to find was being a bit anti-social?

DD( a very sensible 12) was on the beach with some friends on sunday, when they found an axe.
They decided to take it to the police station, but it was closed.
One of her friends dialed 999 and a policeman arrived quickly and thanked them for phoning and handing it in.
I was a bit shocked that they had acted so sensibly and thought that they might get told off by the police for dialling 999.
But I suppose it was better than them leaving it there for another child to find or playing with it and injuring themselves.
I normally just find seashells on the beach.

There's a wood cutter somewhere wondering where his axe is

Seriously, why would someone go on to the beach with an axe? Good job your Ds is so sensible.

dilemma, is there some absent minded builder who is gradually losing his tools?
I think we should be told!
