the other speeding thread made me think of this coupled with an incidence of it toady.
Why the f**k do people do this? they potter along at 45 on a 60 road, you over take and as your overtaking they speed up to 60, so you end up doing 70 to get passed them safely because hitting oncoming traffic.
why do they do it?

Yanbu!
Or they tailgate you for miles (busy road) then when you pull over they overtake and then slow down! A silly cow did this today really pisses me off

Ponders · 20/07/2009 22:13

In our case it will be because we is women, innit. We should know our place (ie behind men )

It really pisses me off too, GG

ChasingSquirrels · 20/07/2009 22:14

the only time I speed up when people overtake me is when I am leaving a speed limited area (which I have been observing - hence they are probably tailgating me) and am accelerating to the new speed (actually more).

woodenchair · 20/07/2009 22:14

Yabu for being really impatient and bumping after 3 minutes

GlastonburyGoddess · 20/07/2009 22:18

it drives me round the bend! I think they have some sick desire to cause a crash or something..

I also hate tailgating BIL+SIL do it, their excuse being that they live in a city and you cant leave much room between cars as someone cuts in, I point out that when they down to stay, its not like that so why do they still do it.....no comment on their part. BIL lucky he didnt go into the back of my car because my threshold for tailgating is when i can no longer see the numberplate of car behind in my mirror, nrly put brakes on car flashed at me, realised it was BIL

also SIL(as do many others) drives in the dark, behind people with her full beam on....why??? its soooo dangerous and bloody annoying
