To be pissed off my half cut BIL taught my 3 year old son to call me a nickname?

Went to BIL/SILs on Saturday night and after finally returning from the pub to see us (wasn't drunk, just merry) he told my son (3) to call DH by a stupid nickname that he used to be called. His cousin started it, and even her little girls greet him with it in a smart tone. Then he told him to call me "mummy (nickname)", and even went as far to get him to call our baby son "baby (nickname)". I laughed it off, and told him I didn't care because it wasn't a real word but googling shows exactly what it is, and while not rude or anything I don't want to be called it! What can I do, because this will run and run now - DS called me it this evening so he obviously remembered it.

I started a nickname for my BIL about 15 years ago. It is now his name.

DH laughs it off, he is getting pissed off too though but he knows it fuels it. He is most pissed off a 7 year old girl yells it to him thinking she is clever, obviously at her mums say so. It just isn't funny anymore.

The girls I am on about are loud and brash, but don't see them alot. No doubt they will yell at me now across the road

Tell your bil straight that you dont like it, what a horribe word.

When your ds calls you it just ignore him he will soon forget.

think about it if it was the other way around. If your dh started encouraging your nieces to call adults names, would you rather someone told you that they've gone too far before they get ostracized at school or get a repuation as a nuisance from other adults?

My brother taught my neice (his daughter) to call me Beetle (first name) instead of Aunt (first name). I paid him back by teaching his girls how to shop for nice clothes. Oh, it was so worth being called a beetle! Although I did insist it was spelled Beatle.

But you BIL is out of line. They are not his kids. I would be might pissed off. In fact, I'd teach my kids to call Uncle Little Limp Dick.
