to worry about what I should do about swine flu?

DS2's (he's 3) nursery announced yesterday that they have had a confirmed case of swine flu. Not alot you can do about these things, the virus is out there and it was bound to reach a workplace/school/nursery near us at some point.

It is not a nursery day for DS2 today but last night and this morning I noticed he just wasn't himself. You know how they get when they're coming down with something, grumpy, a bit warm, tearful. He's been watching tv this morning and doesn't seem up to much else. He says his throat and ear hurt and he's a bit snotty. His temperature is not particularly high though.

What would you do? Do I ring GPs or am I being silly and just reading too much into this? Isn't a high temperature key?

Apparently you don't necessarily get a high temperature but he could just as easily have an ear infection so worth ringing gp for advice.

Ring your gp for advice, tamiflu is only issued in the first 48 hours.

Thanks. I will give them a ring now.

Hi

Spoke to GP. They don't appear to be concerned unless temperature is high.

Oh good. Hope he feels better soon.
