To be fed up with my DS picking his nose constantly?

I am sick of telling him to get his finger out of his nose but worse is finding the places he has smeared the bogies-yesterday I found it all over his new class photo. He is obsessed, any good ideas how to stop it ( other than chop his fingers off)? He's 5.

Mine either eat it or smear it on their sleeve/walls - YUK!

Foolproof solution required here too

My father told me my nose would fall off if i did it.
I knew it wouldn't, but stopped anyway, just in case he was telling th truth.

It's got to be worht a go.

Many, many walls covered, car doors and seats, my clothes, carpet etc. anywhere but a tissue! At least he's not eating it-yet!!

my DS's nick name is "pick and lick" I'm sure you can guess why. I havent found a cure yet, and have tried all manner of "the wind will blow and your finger will get stuck/your head will cave in/finger will fall off" and none of it works. Still, his best friend at school spends all day with his hand down his pants playing with his todge, so I suppose it could be worse.
