TheChilliMooseISNOTFOREATING · 29/07/2009 16:14

I studied in Ealing for a year.

MoonIsATiredSlayer · 29/07/2009 16:16

spooky!

See all this rubbish about northeners being friendly. Londoners are just LOVELY

TheChilliMooseISNOTFOREATING · 29/07/2009 16:17

Yes we are, Moon

MoonIsATiredSlayer · 29/07/2009 16:21

Chilli they are at it again here

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 16:28

I know it's a huge generalisation (and I only moved to london after college so not born here) but I think that Londoners are initially cautious of strangers (we are surrounded by a lot of headers most of the time) but then very accepting of lots of different types of people. That's what brought us here after all.

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 16:34

ok, have to go and spend time with my dd, she's looking a bit hurt that I'm not playing with her

CHILLI HAS WINE

MoonIsATiredSlayer · 29/07/2009 20:18

Oh sarf what kind of designing?

I did a very brief profile but name changing seems to have locked everyone out. It took me bloomin ages to sort it the first time!

Nice glass of peanut please Chilli, ta

how are you kimi?

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 20:24

Graphic design for magazines, got made redundant back in Feb and have been freelancing ever since. I like it. Work takes a bit of a back seat since having my LO she is 22 months now, and the light of my life . Funny how this motherhood malarky takes you isn't it...

MoonIsATiredSlayer · 29/07/2009 20:28

I am an architect, got two DSs the youngest 22 months so snap!

I wish I had the guts to set out on my own as I hate my employers with a passion!

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 20:43

I only set up on my own because my company went bust, it's not easy to give up on a salary otherwise...

TheChilliMooseISNOTFOREATING · 29/07/2009 20:48

My SIL is a freelance graphic designer. Wouldn't it be weird if you knew her. She's German. She and my brother used to work together at a TV production place in London but are both freelance now. He's a TV editor.
I'm a SAHM at the moment. I did have a reasonable career but I had a breakdown and gave it up.

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 20:56

to be completely honest, i go to work for the social aspect and also to get out of the house, I don't have any career aspirations at all. I really like what I do, but it's not particularly taxing. Suits me fine .

MoonIsATiredSlayer · 29/07/2009 21:00

What did you do chilli? And what caused the breakdown

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 21:08

signing off now ladies, will check in later, have lovely evenings

Jude68 · 29/07/2009 21:15

I'm "new" and I seem to be killing a few threads on the local bit..fuck them!!
They all hate me and I DON'T CARE....i do really (whispered in small sheep voice.)

Jude68 · 29/07/2009 21:18

I'm a Londoner originally from the North and I love Londoners/southerners.
I find them way friendlier than northerners AND they don't have a (mushy pea coated) chip on their shoulder either!

TheChilliMooseISNOTFOREATING · 29/07/2009 22:07

Jude68 welcome to the friendliest thread on the site At first I thought northerners were friendly, but, like you say, there are a few shoulders with chips on.

Moon, I am a teacher. I have severe depression and I guess that didn't help the breakdown. It wasn't my job really, I don't think, that did it. Who knows!

SarfEasticated · 29/07/2009 23:13

you can't say that about northerners, you'll get yourself killed!

'la di da daa nothing to see over here'

By the 68 in your name, does that mean you were born in 68? I am having problems finding people as old as me now and would be thrilled to find a fellow over 40-er...

Which thread did you kill by the way, I'll happily go over and stop you hanging there

TheChilliMooseISNOTFOREATING · 30/07/2009 09:06

Let her speak. There are very few places on MN where you can say what you really think.

KIMItheThreadSlayer · 30/07/2009 09:15

Runs through Thread throwing nail bombs

MoonIsATiredSlayer · 30/07/2009 09:34

Morning lovely ladies and welcome Jude. We speak freely on here but my view is not that northeners aren't friendly (two of my best mates and my husband are northerners) I just hate this idea that people like to spread that we southern folk are miserable fuckers!

Chilli you poor thing, are you still depressed (even with us lovlies for company??)? I wouldn't be surprised if it was the teaching, I don't think I could EVER be a teacher, children are horrors these days!
