to think that my neighbours kids should be in bed by 11 pm on a school night?

...instead of being out in the street, shouting, shrieking and generally disturbing the other residents?

YNBU.

Cataline · 06/07/2009 21:57

They're 5 and 6.

Bloody hell! 5 & 6? Just sent my 14 year old DS1 to his pit as it's a school night.

janeite · 06/07/2009 22:01

YANBU

What the heck is neighbour playing at?

differentID · 06/07/2009 22:02

5 and 6?

Hell yes. Even if they were 15 and 16 they should not be causing a nuisance.

Yurtgirl · 06/07/2009 22:02

5 and 6 years old, wow!

Some of my neighbours kids are out until then sometimes but they are usually over 10yo

Cataline · 06/07/2009 22:25

I'd hate to think I was being a preachy 'bring your kids up this way' kind of person but I can't help but really worry about what effect it'll be having on their concentration at school - i'd be shattered if I stayed up that late on a school night myself!

Do they even know that they are out? Bet they are in the house pissed....and caring one bit. Poor kids

Ripeberry · 06/07/2009 22:29

Meant to say NOT caring one bit

Cataline · 06/07/2009 22:34

Nope, they are usually out in the street too. More often than not, causing an awful lot more disturbance than the children!

LuvLee · 06/07/2009 22:50

Nope, YANBU, the little buggers should have been in bed ages ago.

islandofsodor · 06/07/2009 23:00

Mine went to bed late tonight, but they have broken up from school.

SomeGuy · 07/07/2009 00:18

Are you sure they haven't finished school already?

Cataline · 07/07/2009 08:20

SomeGuy - I'm certain, they've got another week and a half to go!

OP posts:
janeite · 07/07/2009 16:59

Whether they have finished school or not, 5 and 6 year olds should not be playing in the street at 11 o' clock at night.

Cataline · 07/07/2009 22:07

It's worse in the holidays - they can be up until the early hours playing on their trampoline and splashing in the pool!

We have kids round here like that, although they tend to have gone in by 10pm which I still think is very late on a school night. My kids can play out, but within reason.

What people do with their own kids is nothing to do with me, but when they are disturbing my kids that have gone to bed at a reasonable time (8:30), it does get irritating.

wrinklytum · 07/07/2009 22:15

yanbu.

Surely the poor things will be shattered for school.
