To feel like booting people who refer to their pregnancies as 'number 2/3/5/8' and birthdays as being 'the big 3/4/5/6 O' up the jacksy?

I think I need a drink.

You definitely need a drink.

MrsMattie · 04/07/2009 18:35

I always called my 2nd baby (when unborn) no.2. I saved my kicks up the arse for people who used sickly names like 'my little jellybean' or 'my little tadpole' or Junior.

The Big 4-0 is pretty ghastly, though, yeh.

EyeballsandherSunburntNorks · 04/07/2009 18:36

So what's wrong? Are you pg with no 1/2/3/4 etc or is it a Big 0 birthday?

ScummyMummy · 04/07/2009 18:36

Have a drink.

suwoo · 04/07/2009 18:37

This baby is no3. Like mrsmattie says, thats got to be better than 'bean' or 'bubbles' surely.

I actually think no3, sounds quite MN appropriate, so there.

JoPie · 04/07/2009 18:47

What are you supposed to say instead?

bellavita · 04/07/2009 18:51
sweetfall · 04/07/2009 18:52

yup

nickytwotimes · 04/07/2009 19:05

YABU.
Yanbu to have a wee drink though.

CMOTdibbler · 04/07/2009 19:37

I refered to my pregnancies as no 1/2/3/4 because I don't want to go into the detail of 'when I was pregnant, oh, you remember, that was the one I miscarried over the bank holiday weekend' etc etc

I do just say how old I will be though

CheeseCheese · 04/07/2009 19:39

at work where no one knows my family( and people can never remember names of three kids in a family anyway) i woudl say " I am off to the cinema with number three son"

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 04/07/2009 19:40

I've never said I'm "the big 40 up the jacksy"

posiedullardparker · 04/07/2009 19:40

I hate it called 'Bubba', number blah I can handle.

CheeseCheese · 04/07/2009 19:40

love up the duff

Kimi · 04/07/2009 19:45

No doubt these things are said by Fat British Women?

moondog · 05/07/2009 00:24

Indeed.
Am even more irritated after night out with friend who spent whole evening musing on what she will do for the 'big four O'.

I had to restrain myself from beating her to a pulp.

OP posts:
aendr · 05/07/2009 11:37

I refer to my hoped for second child as potential number 2, but I too loathe 4-oh and bubba/babba. In fact my PILs still refer to my OH as babba, so as soon as they started also calling my bump it I pointed out that that reminds me of an evil witch (well, Baba Yaga, close enough) and would they please stop, which gave them pause... and they stopped /that/ nickname at least.

qwertpoiuy · 05/07/2009 11:42

Why?

What do you want people to say instead?

Bumperlicious · 05/07/2009 11:51

Not really sure what the problem is with the described behaviour, but I agree that you do need a drink
