and not both sides of the road/ up on the verge/ on disabled spaces/ whatever when there is a school carpark oooh thirty seconds away? And driving your dd right up to the front door on a taster day will not secure your place at the school?

How did you know they were parents if it's a taster day and everyones new? Maybe they assumed car park would be full? Who knows?

ok, maybe they all got their nannies/ grannies whatever to park up, make driving down the road very difficult, and then walk in with their children? Oh, and blind to the great big signs pointing to the overflow carpark?

Well it's human nature that if one or two cars have pulled up onto a verge then why would anyone else assume that there are places left in a carpark? Have done it myself.

My DC's school has a large carpark but so many people choose to park on the road side leading to the carpark instead. It makes it a nightmare to get out of the road the school is on without being run over! Surely it's not too much effort to park properly?

Big fuss at our school at the moment with parents parking in the turning circle!!!! Duh!!!

No, it wasn't full - they were driving into the road from the main road and just basically ...stopping. Then, at pick up time, they just parked wherever. Don't get me started on the school parking generally - exactly what Riven said - am just waiting for small child to be squashed by giant four by four parking across the corner.

I had to leave a note on a car yesterday as it was aprked so close to my door (one of those houses that fronts right onto a street) that i couldn't get in, even with the pram folded (the big one for just the village- have tiny one for other means) couldn't have got it in the house without DH there to lift over said cars roof

We have no car park here, the one everyone used now charges so they won't pay. Cars get abandoned everywhere, often with no effort at aprking- they look as if the driver just braked mid road and climbed out. Last week soemone parked (in narrow Victorian streets) boot to the pavement- WTF? And this morning two people have abandoned their cars along the road so if an ambulance is needed for the ASD unit opposite it won't get through, but as they are not residents we can't suggest they moce them as we have no idea where they are.

Though did have to PMSL last week when PC had words about parking with owner of Merc Compressor job, owner of Merc started ranted on about it being a company car so I can leave it where I wasnt (?? was on a double yellow inand bloccking jhigh street) and eventually got herself arrested fro rbeach of the epace- nice one police!

We did look into asking for a disabled space outside the house at councils instuigation but no pint as outside the school run the problem is taxi's for teh asd unit who have disabled badges when on the run- so we gave up
