he's 8, training is 6-7.30, temp is around 30 - or am I being over-protective??

If he wants to go and he's got a hat and a water bottle he'll be fine. If he's like mine you couldn't keep him away!

How does ds feel about it? Has he plenty to drink since he got home from school?

If he wants to go and his fluid levels are good, then I would let him and make sure he drinks plenty during and after training too.

(says she who is giving her aerobics class a miss tonight as it is so hot )

The coach wouldn't let them carry on if any of them showed signs of heatstroke, so as long as he's got water and a hat, as seeker said, I'd send him, so YAB a bit U.

TwoToTango · 02/07/2009 16:56

How right you both are - thanks. Will send him with loads of water. Was going to text coach to ask if it would be cancelled but was worried about looking OTT!!

He will be fine, I'm sure the coach will give them extra water breaks.

YABVU to do football in summer! It's the cricket season.

Say no to football in July!!!!!

barnsleybelle · 02/07/2009 17:41

Ds is still going... wild horses wouldn't keep him away... the sulk if i stopped him would be unbearable . Lots of fluids and sun cream and he will be fine.

pointydog · 02/07/2009 17:42

let your ds decide, he's 8
