AIBU to think that if the next door neighbours think that a 5 year old doesn't need to go to bed till midnight (every night, inc school nights)and instead spend most of the evening running up and down stairs and slamming doors while screaming...the least they could do is carpet the bloody stairs?

Seriously, I have a headache, I'm trying to relax quietly, and as usual all I can hear is "stamp stamp stamp stamp stamp slam bang scream" repeated ad nauseum for several hours.

Jesus Christ doesn't he go to school? Poor little thing (and you too, obviously). No bath and story routine there then eh?

Sounds horrible. Trouble is I dont suppose you can do anything about it apart from move.
