If I tell my MIL she has been taken for a ride by a Phillipino on a boat.....

MIL is 64, she thinks she is Chrystal Carrington. She wenmt on a cruise (that she can't afford but that's another story) and has come back in love.

It turns out the guy is in his late thirtites, from the Phillipines and a wine waiter on the ship. Apprantly, he made her remember who she is and now she feels like a real woman.

Someone took a picture of the two of them together and he put it by the side of his bed...

Anyway, last night of the cruise, he disappeared, was apparatly called to another bar on the ship as an emergency, and the next morning when they were getting off she could not find him. He has her mobile number but suprise suprise has not called her....

He asked her to go on a Carribbean Cruise in November as he will have more time off to spen with her and she is going to book it tomorrow.

She has his email address and wants me to help her set up an email account.

So, AIBU in telling her she is a sily old fool and she will never hear from him again?

Ps DH is MORTIFIED by the whole affair....

awww, what a shame. Email him from your account and try to convince mil not to book a hol before he replies

omg your poor mil! no i think you should tell her...he could be trying to get into her bank account as well as her knickers. i think she probably got of lightly by the sounds of it.

if she wants to go for another cruise then thats fine but i think she maybe needs her eyes opening. if she goes fully understanding that the blokes probably arnt in for the long haul then fine and good on her but it would be sad if she got hurt because she hasnt understood what the blokes are after.

Oh, I feel very sorry for her. But, yes you have to tell her that he is taking her for a ride. She probably won't listen.

Is she mentally incompetent in any way? If not, then whatever she gets up to is not your business. If you don't want to hear about it tell her so, if you don't wan't to set up the email then don't.

Unless she is really silly then I can't imagine she is thinking this is anything other than a little holiday fling and if she is single then why not?
