Yesterday we had friends over and i did all the shopping, cooking, preparing, etc and the deal is (as always) that he does the cleaning up. he chose not to do it last night, but to leave it til this morning.Now i've remembered it's father's day. Does that mean i've got to do it? the kids are too lazy clumsy young to do it for him.

Yanbu. Dooby, thats what DH said to me on Mothers Day, "you're not my mother". Which was nice, considering we have 2 children under the age to be able to get me a card etc, I was pregnant with his third child, AND had got a card and a present (and wrapped it) and baked a cake for HIS mother.

And yet I'm still letting him lie in bed this morning as its Fathers Day. I'm a mug, aren't I?

DH has got probably the worst present in the world ever - a Blue Peter-esque "desk tidy", made from loo rolls, cardboard, and bits of pasta, painted in manly black and white, except all of it is a bit grey. It's shite, and I feel bad about it.

He does seem to have forgotten that he has a father himself - I'd better remind him.

dh had lots of presents and has been ironing for most of the morning bless him it is one of his many skills that I appreciate greatly

My wife came in hiding a facial hair trimmer behind her back and said 'I bought this for you and me to use. Well for me to trim my pubes and eyebrows with actually.'

OP...YANBU...indeed, am currently well pissed off wiht dh....but nothing new there...

MY DH went to the shops, and made himself a fresh coffee. He said, hey you should be doing this and i said, as has been said already 'you are not my father' .

But he did get an uber lie and has gone off to watch the gp on the big screen which he chose to do over and above camping for the summer solstice. So he cannot complain

well I'm not actually. She did ask me the best method of minge trimming a couple of days ago. I had yet to do the research when she came in with this thing (only a tenner anyway).

I can't believe your 'you're not my father' comments.

The amount of stick guys got in March for saying 'you're not my mother' and how unappreciated some mums felt but its OK to say it to the dads!

My DH has been spoilt rotten today, and got yesterday afternoon off to watch the rugby, now I didn;t get anywhere near as spoilt on mothers day but it would be petty of me not to do anything for him. The DD's loved it and were so excited.

YANBU, leave it for him. On Mother's day DH was in work (fair enough) but then straight afterwards he fecked off to his martial arts class till 9pm. Leaving me to do a week's worth of ironing and do bath and bed. So today he got a card and present from the kids but thats all. Was like a normal Sunday, I still did everthing around the house (as I always do) but didn't do anything for him. Haven't even made him a cup of tea all day.
