My MIL text me this

Hi A. Back had gd time.Hope U all ok.J still going 2 fete afters? If so what time or doing sumut else now?

AIBU to think that older people should know better - if this was my teenage brother it would annoy me, but I would over-look it because he isnt very mature.

So annoying. But better than my mum (who is only 51) and seems to think she is charged per character. Very strange telegram type messages ensue with no spaces, but bizarrely full stops where the space should be and all in capitals. When it's mentioned she just REFUSES.TO.TEXT.YOU.ANYMORE.

rofl

My mum always texts with one word answers - I'm forever reassuring her that she won't be charged per letter, lol.

I don't like to see text speak on a message forum, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest in text messages particularly when people are pay as you go and get charged per message (as opposed to getting free texts, I mean).
