Kids are getting bunk beds.

DS1s old bed was off ebay, new but been at someones house, was cheap ikea bed.

DS2s bed is a gorgeous single, big blue headboard and footboard with rockets on, cost a bit.

So I decided to put cheap bed on freecycle but try to rehome the blue bed in the family.

I get a lovely reply on freecycle, polite, sounds genuine collecting tonight ...

SIL texts me 'yh prob, measure it for us, dnno if itll fit'

Now I want to put it on freecyce too.

What is yh prob?

You don't have to give it to her.

Disenchanted3 · 19/06/2009 17:41

'yeah probably'

bit confused. you mean SIL just assumed she'd get it and wants you to measure up for her? i.e. being cheeky?

Frasersmum123 · 19/06/2009 17:42

I would be annoyed - she doesnt sound very grateful

Disenchanted3 · 19/06/2009 17:43

I asked if she wanted DSs bed, told her its only few months old etc ...

No 'please' or 'thankyou' for it in reply and asks me to measure it without a 'please' either

JUST what I was trying to avoid on freecycle.

Hmmm, maybe I am asking too much expecting manners these days??

Not at all!

Don't give it to her.

Cheeky mare.

zeke · 19/06/2009 17:50

well if she 'def hav - bring round' tell her you are selling it for £50 and see if she is still interested!
OMG - I would be annoyed, too!

CarGirl · 19/06/2009 17:51

I'd stick it on ebay at least you'd get some ££££££££££££££ for the hassle!

Stretch · 19/06/2009 17:51

Can you give nice person the nice bed, and SIL the cheap one??

DarrellRivers · 19/06/2009 17:53

It is a text though, and it is difficult to get across the correct emotion sometimes

Disenchanted3 · 19/06/2009 17:57

No stretch, the freecycle ones just an adult single bed, this is a kids one.
