BethAndHerBrood · 18/06/2009 19:28

My DH would do the same. Drives me mad!

thisisyesterday · 18/06/2009 19:28

mine does that too. doesn't bother me, I know he'll scoff the curry too!
he isn't a kid lol

differentID · 18/06/2009 19:31

dis, mine is a swine for doing this.

He's just had baked potato with ham, cheese and beans and has gone and he's just made a huge sandwich using the rest of the nice ham

pookamoo · 18/06/2009 19:31

Mine comes home and makes a cheese sandwich.

Whatever is for dinner, and how ever long it is going to be.

PlumBumMum · 18/06/2009 19:34

Glad mine is not the only one, it drives me crazy!!!! Although he dosen't do it in secret he stands and looks in biscuit cupboard while I'm making dinner.

I thought I was mad to be anoyed about it, at least now I know I'm not alone!

thisisyesterday · 18/06/2009 19:35

but why do you get annoyed about it?
I'd b e annoyed if dp was stuffing his face and then not eating a dinner i'd prepared.
but if he's hungry then what's the problem with him eating something??

i don't get it.

mrsruffallo · 18/06/2009 19:36

Sounds like something I would do- well, a curry is going to take about an hour isn't it

LadyAga · 18/06/2009 19:36

YABVU to eat a curry when I am not

littlebrownmouse · 18/06/2009 19:37

I do it. Am I unreasonable or just a greedy pig?

PlumBumMum · 18/06/2009 19:38

thisisyesterday I think the first time I got annoyed was because he did it infront of the kids, so now it just annoys me silly I know!

rubyslippers · 18/06/2009 19:38

wouldn't bother me

he is a grown up - i would assume he is hungry and wants to eat

he can eat what he wants, when he wants surely?

Disenchanted3 · 18/06/2009 19:50

because a curry is a treat to us, expensive, and i think if u are hungry wait 20 mina and really enjoy it. don't ram half a warbutons down your throat before ordering.

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 18/06/2009 19:52

i'm sure he'll still enjoy it disenchanted.
you don't have to be ravenous to enjoy a meal do you?

calm down dear! it doesn't matter a jot in the grand scheme of things, forget about it, enjoy your curry and have a nice evening in

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 18/06/2009 20:07

My family are like you - we will make ourselves hungry by putting off a meal out to the point of stupidity (eg on my mum's birthday we sat down to lunch at 5) and we are all used to it, but my poor DH was almost passing out and had to buy a sandwich. He eats when he is hungry - end of story! No matter when/what dinner is.

nametaken · 18/06/2009 20:07

wouldn't bother me either.

Last time I looked it's a free country.

nametaken · 18/06/2009 20:09

OP you seem to have confused your mother/wife roles.

You are mother to the children and wife to your dh.

mumeeee · 18/06/2009 23:14

YABU. Why can't he eat if he is hungry? My Dh used to be able to do this and still eat and enjoy a curry. H

SomeGuy · 18/06/2009 23:55

I get annoyed with my wife for eating before meals. OTOH it's ok for me to do it, because if she does it she won't eat her dinner, but I will.

debilicious · 19/06/2009 14:32

i am obviously a pig because i am always delighted if DP eats something like toast etc (not a treat I want!!!) before we get a take away - means he won't eat it all - more for me... HA!
