On ice cream it should either be raspberry sauce OR chocolate sprinkles they just taste wrong together. I am still eating my icecream obviously but it just tastes wrong. AIBU?

yes, yabu. raspberries and chocolate are a lovely combination.

nancy75 · 14/06/2009 20:55

yabvu indeed! chocolate sprinkles go with everything, {grin]

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 14/06/2009 20:55

YABU sorry- rasperry and chocolate is lovely just like starwberry and chocolate or orange and chocolate- in fact most things go with chocolate. What flavour's your icecream?

gigglewitch · 14/06/2009 20:56

how very dare you my old mate - Totally Unreasonable Suggestion
They do have to be plain choc sprinkles, mind

pjmama · 14/06/2009 20:57

Sounds bloody marvellous?! Stick a slice of chocolate cake on top and get one for me

neolara · 14/06/2009 20:59

I completely agree with.

Chocolate and fruit should NEVER EVER EVER be put together (except in a Terry's chocolate orange.) Yuk, yuk, yuk.

neolara · 14/06/2009 20:59

Oops. Agree with OP.

llareggub · 14/06/2009 21:00

Anyone who has ever had a Joe's Ice Cream in Swansea will completely disagree with your statement.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 14/06/2009 21:04

sorry raspberry and chocolate is one of my favorite combinations.

SugarBird · 14/06/2009 21:33

Raspberries and chocolate one of the best taste combos ever. Mmmmmmm

Juwesm · 14/06/2009 21:37

What about a '99' with sauce and a flake???

(Though not sure how closely related ice-cream-van sauce is to actual raspberries!)

madlentileater · 14/06/2009 21:37

real chocolate plus real raspberries-yes, yummy
chocolate sprinkles and raspberry sauce, NO!

giraffesCantRunA10k · 14/06/2009 21:38

neolara it looks like we are alone!

I hate black forrest gatauex too

Its vanilla icecream. With either on its own, lovely. But together - NO!

The only combo I can entertain is chocolate covered raisins.

Yes, as a kid any flavour sprinkles and sauce went together with any flavour ice cream. The more the merrier. My kids just like everything that you can put on icecream left out so they can pile it on. Their approach to diy pizzas is similar.
Strawberries go well with chocolate, so do raspberries, although I'm now too old to be bothered with choc sprinkles myself.

MogTheForgetfulCat · 14/06/2009 22:03

Chocolate and fruit together is an aberration.

pingviner · 14/06/2009 22:30

well if you dont want them pass it over here

Qally · 14/06/2009 22:39

Raspberries baked into chocolate mousse cake is food of the gods, though! Best recipe ever.

I think you need help, tbh. emoticon

Juwesm · 14/06/2009 22:39

Mog - not even a chocolate-dipped strawb?

SugarBird · 14/06/2009 22:47

Agree about black forest gateau. Bleurgh! But any other chocolate and fruit...yum!

neolara · 14/06/2009 22:53

Chocolate-dipped straberries is a particularly distressing idea. Why mix two completely fantastic ingredients to make something revolting?

Qally · 14/06/2009 22:54

Heston Blumenthal's BFG might be nice, if you were insane enough to try. (And own a digital probe, a paint gun, a vacuum cleaner and a vaccum clothes bag, and are willing to sacrifice the lot to the cause.)

giraffesCantRunA10k · 15/06/2009 08:14

Strawberries and cream/icecream/sugar even but chocolate - NO!!!

Icecream is great with chocolate but the raspberry sauce is a completely different taste and is just wrong with the chocolate!

I thought my icecream van man was strange...must be me then next time I will have to specify NO SPRINKLES
