We have white through out, the hallways get particularly messy but we've used wipe clean paint.

ours started off cream. It lasted a few months but was so filthy (buggy wheel marks, bikes tyres, rugby balls, and probably tons of snot knowing ds2) we repainted dark red in a scrubbable emulsion. Was Farrow and Ball so not cheap, but if anything gets on it now I can go at it with a cloth.

YANBU - anything but white, unless your dh fancies repainting every weekend.

Lol our hall is a blue/grey colour for this very reason. It still gets grubby at the door though but wipes clean.
A white hall is a scary thought!

quite like the idea of silvery blue

once went a bit too overboard once
used a bluey green

dd said it looked like we where in the sea

and it glowed rather ,,

Every room except DC's bedrooms are white in our house. I am a slave to white emulsion even though like TPP is supposedly wipe clean. Maybe 'wipe more often' clean? Looks nice though

Half my house is painted in egyptian cotton which is a very soft grey - I love it

Hall stairs & landing will be that colour by Christmas
