My dh has been away since last wednesday and is due back today. When I spoke to him this morning he said, 'ooh, there's a bit of gossip. X and Z were having a bit of a snog last night!' X is single so can do what she likes, but I know Z is married, with kids. I said I thought this was awful to dh and he said well, it's been a tough, stressful week and they'd had a bit to drink, it didn't mean anything.

Is it me??!! I hate this!

Ps. I'm not pissed off because I think dh did anything.

agree with your DH.

foreveroptimistic · 08/06/2009 09:57

I agree with you if one of them is married it is wrong.

melmog · 08/06/2009 10:06

Oh God, maybe it's me then. It makes me feel horrid.
I know his wife is at home looking after their kids and he is off snogging someone else.

Drunk or not,Stressed or not
no excuse

If you are married, then in my book snogging anyone else is basically wrong. DH and I have been married for 16 years, I've never snogged anyone else in that time, and I'm confident he hasn't either (I'd be VERY disappointed if I found out he had).

Married or not, snogging anyone you work with is a bloody stupid thing to do, because it makes the whole work dynamic MUCH more complicated, and will lead to all sorts of difficulties longer term, with various gossip/accusations surrounding you for a very long time.

It is basically very unprofessional

I agree with you, melmog

LovelyTinOfSpam · 08/06/2009 10:14

Of course it's wrong to get off with someone else if you're married.

Unless you have agreed in your relationship that it's OK.

Bet his wife hasn't given him free rein to get off with his colleagues though...

iMissEdith · 08/06/2009 10:18

melmog have you ever had a tough, stressful week?

Perhaps next time you do, you can let off some steam by getting drunk and snogging someone single.

Float this idea in the general direction of your dh and see if he thinks that would be fine. I think he will pull this face

supagirl · 08/06/2009 10:21

Agree with previous poster! Totally wrong imo.

Is snogging someone when you are married OK in many people's books???
Unprofessional and totally wrong and it's a shame your DH doesn't see that.

MadameDefarge · 08/06/2009 10:26

errr, IME, I think you'll find the OP does not think this is acceptable.

I can see melmogs point. If my DH was saying it was fine for his married colleagues to pull I would be extremely at him, as it would mean that we had different values about something pretty fundamental in our relationsip...
