by saying that we can move into a new house

but I must be happy

we have had a few problems to say the least with neighbours and houses in the last few years

so shall we stay put

and stay next to mil

So is he basically saying that he'll move again as long as you don't moan about the next house?

If so, then go for it. Anything has to be better than living next to your MIL even if she's a nice one.

barnsleybelle · 04/06/2009 21:44

I think it's a fair comment from him. He's happy to go through the hassle and expense of moving house... but wants to feel sure that this will be the end of your unhappiness.

How many times have you moved?

piscesmoon · 04/06/2009 21:47

I think it is a fair comment-it costs a lot to move.

Turbomouth · 04/06/2009 21:47

I have to say it doesn't sound like emotional blackmail to me either, but then we are not there seeing his facial expresions, hearing his tone etc.

Maybe he really does want you to be happy

HecatesTwopenceworth · 04/06/2009 21:49

Well, I think it's quite reasonable of him.

If you have problems with people wherever you go, then there comes a point at which you need to look at your own attitude. Maybe that's what he is trying to say?

AliceThroughThelookingGlass · 04/06/2009 21:56

oh no

I have tried to get on with mil
we are on friendly terms

it is more

the landlords of the properties who break promises

well that is the last two houses

and this next move would be down the road

we could use a wheelbarrow
