To ask him to get his own stuff?

I have been busy all week, working as well as being shattered after being up a couple of nights with DD2.

I'm supposed to cooking dh a meal today for his birthday but I haven't had time to go to the supermarket.

Would it be unreasonable to ask him to cut his day short for an hour and just get me the bits I need and I'll still cook the meal?

Do you not have any chance between now and this evening to pick stuff up? I don't think it's unreasonable to need him to shop if that's the way it has to be, but I'd try to avoid it if it's just inconvenient to you to shop rather than really difficult.

Not hugely unreasonable, but not great either! My DH wouldn't be bothered, but I certainly would! Does it have to be a supermarket shop? Don't you have any local shops you could nip out to and get something simple - couple of nice steaks and really good bottle of wine? Or what about just ordering a take away - make it easy on both of you?
