Yes it's full of fox tails and gentry spit.

Not Wagon Wheels ha ha ha no fox tail hairs there, surely? Are Teacakes poison too?

well surely even poor people have a smallish patch of land outside space for growing fresh veg ? No excuse at all. And my lovely housekeeper can make a batch of hand made ravioli in no time at all, while looking after the dcs and ironing my linen sheets. I've watched her. It's sooo easy. No need for shops at all really.

you're quite right, and if they run out of bread, they should just get some cake

m&s sell non-free range meat. Meh. Proper food snobs shop at Waitrose.

I don't have a Waitrose near enough, SomeGuy. In fact, my area is sooo deprived that Waitrose don't even deliver here.

I have just sent the maid out in her hobnailed boots to walk eleven miles to the nearest Farmer's market. I do hope she's back in time to change channels when Cash In The Attic comes on...

Do the trolleys in M&S have more toddler-friendly bread / flower compartments?

What a delightful thread! I read the 'If you can't buy free range' one filled with guilt and horror. It really is so much easier to be ethical if you have lots of money (having time helps to ... WAHM here).

Do wish DH (or myself) earned enough for us to only shop in M&S though. Yum. The packaging is so lovely too. I pop in for bits when I can.

mygoldennotebook tis really a pity for your poor DH and you. It must make you feel so, how can I put this delicately inadequate.

Perhaps I could proffer a suggestion? It really does not do one much harm to fast for a day or two a week, in fact, I find it can really bolster the old constitution.

This way, you could eat from M&S exclusively and not lose face among your considerably more affluent friends.

I do hope the above has been of some help. I must off now and waft my dahlias with some prig spray.

Toodaloo!

I'll come for lunch with you BOF, especially if you keep laughing at my jokes

I was thinking of going to the manky take away noodle and sushi place round the corner. But they've just stopped their 8 pieces for 4.50 deal and now the same meal costs £8.00

Tesco cheese and ham sarnie it is then

Interesting, I shall ask the housekeeper what this "M&S" is. I should hate to think that cook uses anything that is ready prepared, though, regardless of where it is sourced!

Sassybeast · 28/05/2009 12:12

They let poor people into M&S now. And they do [shudder] OFFERS. I saw someone in there in a track suit the other day It's so sad. I'd prefer to starve my children to death than shop somewhere like that.

What good advice - will throw out all Sainsburys food immediately and begin fasting / saving for M&S food at once.
