my dh comes from a wealthy family, and had quite a bit of money his self when we married i was in a lot of debt, we married less than a year after we first met - we were in love (still are!)
any way this prompted a lot of gold digging comments from people who i thought were friends and even family. i really hurt both of us.
we had talked about the debts and decided we would both work and pay them off that way. the money he had saved wouldnt be used to pay them off it would be used for a house, kids, etc. i'm pleased to say all debt has now been payed off but by hard work not by savings
people can be cruel because they think only there opinion matters. only you and your dp know the full picture, everyone else can go f* themselves
