who let their two rottweilers run around a children's playground while my dd (16months and just finding her feet) was having a toddle around. The, to add insult to injury, the dog pooed and they just left it there making no attempt to clean it up at all. I did say to them in an overtly annoyed tone that 'I didn't think you were allowed dogs in here' but I got ignored. Damn it, i need to have more balls.

Be gentle, virgin post.

mel1981 · 26/05/2009 17:08

God no your not being unreasonable!! I would be too.
Its just disrespectful. Playgrounds are meant for kids not dogs.

elliepac · 26/05/2009 17:11

i therefore must have balls if i have put my first post in AIBU .

It's totally unreasonable. There's a man who takes his (very agressive) german shepherd to our local park whilst taking photos of the teenagers misbehaving and gives them to the police . I found out from the teenagers last week that he's been known to set his dog on them so they run up the skating ramp (bloody high) and it follows! It's tried to attact my Mum whilst she was in her front garden before, so I've told them to take photos next time his dog tries to attack them and give them to the police. Makes me so !!

violethill · 26/05/2009 17:20

I agree you are so NBU!!

That's disgusting behaviour. I would report what happened to the local police... don't know whether they'll do anything, but I guess the idiots are locals and probably go to the playground quite often. So the police might try to do something.

Haribosmummy · 26/05/2009 17:20

YANBU

I hate agressive dogs.

I ran into two this morning (albeit well away from any play parks) with my chocolate labrador and the chap tried to KICK my dog. Bastard.

simplesusan · 26/05/2009 18:36

Yanbu

Stinkermink · 26/05/2009 18:39

Yanbu, and poo in a playpark!!!!! I'd have bagged it up and thrown it at them.

elliepac · 26/05/2009 18:42

Haribosmummy, i agree, bastard is the only appropriate word. Stinkermink, why didn't I think of that?

smudgethepuppydog · 26/05/2009 18:44

As a dog owner?

You are not being unreasonable. At all.

Totallyfloaty35 · 26/05/2009 19:23

YANBU, as a dog owner(had 3 at one point) i have been known to clean up after other peoples dogs if its in a park and kids nearby, have also been known to shout at people to get their dogs out of the kids playarea. Some people should not be allowed to keep animals

Eve4Walle · 26/05/2009 19:25

YA so NBU.

Some people are scummy slobs. It's getting worse. What is wrong with these people?

Stinkermink · 26/05/2009 19:27

elliepac (I am also a dog owner), I drove past a woman walking a dog at the end of my road the other day. Dog was on full stretch of the lead and owner looking in the other direction while it did it's business. She started to walk away, so I pulled over and handed her a nappy sack through the window and told her to pick the poo up, you filthy person. She didn't. When DS and I went out for a walk this evening, I bagged up the poo and dropped the bag off onto their doorstep.... I am a horrible neighbour!

HeinzSight · 26/05/2009 19:27

Another dog owner here and you are SO NBU!!!!

What disgusting people, I feel v angry on your behalf!

Paolosgirl · 26/05/2009 19:29

Well done Stinker!!!

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 26/05/2009 19:30

I'm a dog owner and yaNbu, at all.

I get so annoyed when people don't pick up after their dogs.

Stinkermink · 26/05/2009 19:32

it's vile though isn't nothing worse than dog poo in your pram wheels on the school run!! I'm afraid it's a huge problem where I live, there are no poo bins and I think that's why people don't bother.

icedgemsrock · 26/05/2009 19:42

stinker - brilliant!
Ellie - well done for saying something.

elliepac · 26/05/2009 19:42

stinker, i am very impressed. You quite obviously have the balls i was lacking earlier on!

Paolosgirl · 26/05/2009 19:44

It makes me mad when I see people do it - like you I usually say something, and usually get the same reaction you got. We walk along a tarmaced lane to school, and so many people use it as a dog loo, either right on the lane or in the grass verge at the side. Either way, it's a nightmare trying to keep a toddler out of it. Scraping it off shoes is disgusting in the extreme - I wonder if they ever had to scrape it off their shoes, and if they don't think it's disgusting as well?

elliepac · 26/05/2009 19:45

I may have said something icedgemsrock(and they really do rock by the way ) but was completely ineffective . Hey ho, onwards and upwards, next time I am putting it on their doorstep a la stinkermink.

OP posts:
Paolosgirl · 26/05/2009 19:45

tarmacced

Stinkermink · 26/05/2009 19:49

luckily I think I got the right doorstep! My own tale of dog poo disgustingness, on holiday one new year and while taking our pooch out for a very early walk (no garden) he did a poo that no amount of poo bags could remove from the pavement. I ran back to the house with him and boiled the kettle and returned with the dettol and hot water. The local newsagent was very surprised!

Paolosgirl · 26/05/2009 19:51

Stinker - that's the reason I could not ever, ever, ever get a dog. Scraping stinking crap off a pavement is the sort of thing I have nightmares about! Well done you though...
