To think this bbc news presenter is a chauvinist arse?

This clip of Justin Rowlatt and Sophie Raworth is typical old boys rubbish from the BBC, I think. Or am I suffering sense of humour failure? Personally, I'd like to tackle him on the hockey pitch, but reckon he'd probably be too scared.

There is a whole thread about these programmes on telly addicts.

He has 3 daughters. I assume they will be taught how to sew, cook and type

I've worked with him. He likes to play devil's advocate and would put money on the fact that the comments were made with tongue firmly in cheek.

tattycoram · 25/05/2009 10:51

I hate it when people make annoying, ill thought out comments on the pretext of playing devil's advocate, or even worse "joking".

Secretarial was wide of the mark, but HR, which is what he was in, is indeed relatively female dominated. Saying 'secretarial' is a bit too much of a stereotype though.

It was unlikely to be the IT department at any rate.

Eve4Walle · 25/05/2009 11:26

He's seems lovely, not a twat at all.

growyourown · 25/05/2009 12:49

But he's a reporter, it's his job to play devil's advocate...
