I have always told DP that if we ever did it I would be in red too. I love the idea. I have the exact colour and style in my head.

It's only just recently that he's admitted he would rather I was more traditional!

cheesesarnie · 24/05/2009 14:19

agree with tilly

wotulookinat · 24/05/2009 14:20

My mum wore red when she married my dad. It was the second marriage for both of them and it was the seventies, so they got away with being a bit different.
I say go for it!

YanknCock · 24/05/2009 14:22

What Tilly said.

I looked like a marshmallow at my first wedding. A dark red dress suited my colouring much better for wedding no 2!

CarrieBo · 24/05/2009 14:25

YANBU, I've been to a wedding where the bride wore red and it was fab, gorgeous photos and no one really commented, it just looked 'right'. Agree YABU about reason for wanting to wear it though! Have a little lie down in the shade and the feeling of wanting Chris de Burgh will soon pass

MadameCastafiore · 24/05/2009 14:30

Have only seen it done once - one of my cousins uber chavvy friends - she resembled a hooker crossed with a spanish flamenco dancer and saloon bar owner!

paisleyleaf · 24/05/2009 14:36

I'm another on agreeing with Tilly....
YANBU to want to wear a red dress

To avoid the flamenco dancer / bar owner look, it might be as well to steer clear of frills and satin. I have seen wedding photos where the bride wore pillar box red, it looked fine, but her dress was quite plain.

Nighbynight · 24/05/2009 15:24

Re Chris de Burgh - do you remember when he left his wife for another woman, and both women were photographed wearing red the next day? awful.

Lulumama · 24/05/2009 15:27

is this for your wedding to Piers MOrgan?

i think you must have sunstroke
