Don't get me wrong, I was at first and followed it om the radio / in the papers and it should still BE news, but is it not time for some of theother news stories to take top billing?

ANd btw, I can't avoid it - current affairs is my only non-mn hobby.

...and this is not in response to any threads on MN, just in response to blanket coverage in the media.

YANBU. I agree. I'm tired of hearing about it, and it's been in the news for about a month now.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 23/05/2009 19:20

I think the reason is largely to do with the volume of information to be processed. The telegraph has so much stuff to go through and cross reference that it is tking ages (it is only 16 days although it does fel like longer).

I would like for it all to come out, I do want to know.

(oh and it does convienently sell papers )

FairMidden · 23/05/2009 19:21

I don't think it's boring. I think the fact that it's still making the headlines is because it's still selling papers - as a country we're obviously collectively still interested.

I think the tenacity of this story is because it serves to illuminate a culture of self-service amongst our politicians. None of this has shocked me but it has really made me sad. I think it is definitely a Good Thing though. A new dawn, someone said - I like to hope they're right.

Yup I'm with you

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 23/05/2009 19:21

oh and the Anthony Steen stuff only came out a couple of days ago and he's relatively local for me, so it is still relevant.

The more of the arrongant ones that have to fall on their swords the better (my MP hasn't been caught yet but is surprisingly quiet )

nickytwotimes · 23/05/2009 19:24

Oh, I agree it's still newsworthy and it is still fascinating, but everything else going on seems to be ignored.
