Maybe i am just a big moan. But this shocked me slightly.
After months of nothing dps parents came to visit yesterday. They were playing with ds (17 mo) on the sofa with his etch a sketch thing, (not a proper etch a sketch, but the one where you draw with the pen and wipe along the bottom to clear it).
So fil was drawing things, little men, dinosaurs etc. Then he drew...a plane flying towards two tower blocks, turned it round to show everyone, mil laughed a lot, dp just said 'pfft god dad' and said nothing, nothing at all. I even pretended i couldn't make it out without my glasses so i didn't cause an atmosphere. He came closer and i just looked like .
Okay so i know ds who is 17 mo didn't know what it was.. but really is there any need?

sounds like a nutter but don't think your son will be in anyway affected.

People never fail to surprise me with their out and out stupidity or in the inappropriate thiings that they find amusing

What a weirdo

luvoneson · 23/05/2009 00:16

You are not a big moan, it would shock me as well, what is wrong with people, sick. I agree with you.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/05/2009 00:16

Totally inappropriate for a 17month old.

He wont find planes/cars/trains bashing into things funny til he's about 3.

Laquitar · 23/05/2009 00:19

i usually say 'stop moaning' on these threads but even i would be and at this. YANBU

luvoneson · 23/05/2009 00:19

LaurieFairyCake I think you are missing the point. The drawing was like the twin towers ie 9/11.

PrammyMammy · 23/05/2009 00:20

phew, so glad i am not the only one who thinks he's a bit nuts.

It is a slightly unusual thing to draw out of the blue - has your FIL a particular interest in this event?

MrsKitty · 23/05/2009 01:33

Sounds exactly like the kind of ridiculous thing my PITA FIL would do

thumbwitch · 23/05/2009 01:37

nutter. at least your DS won't have a clue or be affected by it in anyway, thank goodness.

Laurie

I think this has little to do with your DS being around - not going to affect him in any way!

But your FIL is pretty wierd to find that funny, it has to be said.

So, on balance, YANBU to be shocked, but YABU to overreact
