Cant seem to get the eggs out my daughters long hair, so AIBU to wait until they hatch, because they are so much easier to comb out.

YABU

She is going to give everyone else in the class nits.

Songbird · 22/05/2009 12:02

Love the name! I don't know is the answer, but felt compelled to look at an AIBU thread where the OP wasn't up in arms!!

condition well, comb for at least half an hour
go and buy a nitty gritty comb

put some effort in

tsk

Songbird · 22/05/2009 12:03

I suppose, get the old chemicals going and comb it as best you can - start wide-toothed, ending with nit comb. Tedious, I know, but that's the problem with princess hair!

actually reality said it much better than I did

juneybean · 22/05/2009 12:04

Cut her hair, it'll grow back.

Smithagain · 22/05/2009 12:04

Asbolutely fine ........ as long as she is going to stay at home and have no contact with any other children until you've dealt with them.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 22/05/2009 12:04

I'm all itchy myself now

Songbird · 22/05/2009 12:05

A simple YABU would have sufficed reality . Lazy fuckwit is going a bit far

TrinityIsLovingHerLittleRhino · 22/05/2009 12:05

I meant realitys first post
but her second is also very good
except I would have added 'just like the rest of us have to'

get a grip and get on with your responsibilities

nittynomates · 22/05/2009 12:08

Love the fact Im a fuckwit! Im pmsl at all these replies, couldnt you have really not held back! say it like it really is! Is it not a good time to mention the worms then?

OP posts:
TrinityIsLovingHerLittleRhino · 22/05/2009 12:11

you can mention all sorts of weirds things that kids can get all the time

we just want, you, as the responsible parent to deal with them properly or else we have to pay....

simple really
beginning to think you are winding us up

good show, got a great response now be a dear and go away

LovingTheRain · 22/05/2009 12:12

If you're in or around London, there's a fantastic place that does all the work for you with no chemicals. My DDs loved it and were treated like little princesses (We had to go three times to be clear)

I can't get the eggs out with a nitty gritty comb, they drive me nuts, I comb for 20 minutes and then sit and pull each egg out with my fingernails. Takes fecking ages and has to be done for each child so,when they have headlice, I have to write off every other night for the two weeks.

If I don't I will never get rid of them from my children and my children will be passing them to everyone around them.

tattifer · 22/05/2009 12:17

YABU - everyone else will get them. Comb every day with nitty gritty comb and you'll get most, the rest you can blitz with prioderm. My daughter has very thick, very long hair and it works every time.

We do have to use a general anaesthetic to get the gritty comb through it though

tattifer · 22/05/2009 12:19

I've now started scratching like the devil!

Aargh, the powers of auto suggestion

Baisey · 22/05/2009 12:20

Is it possible to have a phobia of head lice? Ive just read this thread and come out in a cold sweat and a rather itchy head
PLEASE for the love of god comb the eggs out!!!

bronze · 22/05/2009 12:22

Anyway you dont treat her. She passes them onto someone else. Her hatch and you get rid of them. She catches them back from that other person or the 3rd person they've moved onto in that time
