To let DS1 2.2yo stay up a bit late?

DS1 normally goes to bed at half 7 but tonight I am keeping him up for about an hour.

DH started work at 11:15am and finishes at 20:15. Tomorrow he is working 09:30 until 16:30 and then Saturday I am out all day with the boys.

So I was planning on DS1 staying up to see DH as he wouldn't see him much over the next few days. However MIL just rang and heard he was up and decided that 1 night would ruin everything.

AIBU?

YANBU. If he isn't too tired then I don't see the problem.

YANBU. All due respect to your MIL it isn't really up to her. I've never found flexible bedtimes a problem.

I don't think he is to tired. Currently bouncing around front room pretending to ride a horse.

Yanbu. It won't be the end of the world for the odd night.

An hour once or twice will make no odds whatsoever. ANd that's from me, a routine junkie!

Grendle · 21/05/2009 20:11

YANBU . It does no harm at all occasionally for various reasons.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/05/2009 12:17

yanbu

the odd night is fine

its nice to see daddy

plus if he is tired next day then can go to bed earlier that night or have a longer sleep during the day

Kayzr · 22/05/2009 12:57

Well it all went very well!! Plus he didn't wake up at 6 like normal, he slept until half 7. So we got a bit of a lie in too!!

YANBU - I keep my 22 month ds up to 8pm so that he can see daddy before going to sleep. DH gets home, changes quickly and does the bedtime stories - this time is precious to both of them and DS is so tired he falls asleep in a second, happy, contented and tired.
