...at being resentful of having to do this stupid glucose tolerance test on Sunday?

No indications of gestational diabetes, they're just doing it because of my age. I know I don't have to do it, but ffs, three hours on a Sunday morning is excessive, no?

i can see that you feel it is unreasonable, but go ahead and do it!

i also had to have the test because i was "old", it came back positive and DS was big for dates. in fact he arrived 13 days early weighing 10lb 4oz and it made my eyes water, to say the least!!

I was told to have the test because of my age, again no indications. I just did't go and when they tried to organise another appointment I told them I didn't want one. They didn't push it and that was that. It's up to you whether you have the test. Just do what makes you feel comfortable.

you need to have this test. I found out I had GD at 30 weeks and then I was left with diabetes after the birth. 2 yrs on, i am still diabetic (will be for life).

i know you may not feel like you need it, but there are no symptoms of high blood sugar apart from needing the loo more, which you do when you're pregnant anyway, so the only way to tell is by doing a test.

And if you do have it, you need to know for you baby's sake and your own. It is irresponsible not to take test if it is offered to you.

How many times have people moaned that the NHS is not offering them the service they need - now you have this being offered and you are thinking about not taking it?!

It is half a day out your life - just do it, take a book or read the free magazines, and let them do their job. If it is negative, then lucky you, if it is positive, then you need to know.

Huh, I had mine on my birthday! Got the all clear though, so that's a plus!
