Ok, I'm stressed. I'm in the middle of moving. We got a Notice to Quit on our rented property and had to find somewhere else so it's not exactly a time of excitement!

Anyway, I get two removal companies around to quote for the move. One is local and we liked the guy, the other is out of area but turned out to quote £500 less for the same job.

The local company had a 'price promise' saying they would match any price if we forwarded a similar quote so we did.

After indicating they were duty bound to honour the quote, this removal company has decided that they are actuallty now booked on the day we move. Mmmmm.

Ok, shady dealings but fair enough if they can't do the work for the price.

However, the bonkers woman I've been dealing with has sent me ranting emails about the other firm being desperate and how great they are. She has been quite rude and personal 'you're supposed to be a solicitor so I'm surprised you can't understand x, y and z'

I asked her to stop emailing me as there is no point. I asked her to pass my emails on and guess what....

She emailed back because she is the general manager!

I said let's leave it at that and asked her again not to email me again. We've got someone else to do the move.

She's just emailed me again....! I haven't read it

But honestly, the firm is a big regional removal company and this can't be proper behaviour can it?

Got my boys of with chicken pox today and we move next week so I could do without the endless lunacy (e.g. a guy I spoke to at a major insurance company decided to cancel my policy today of his own volition!)

Forward all the emails onto your local paper.

Nutter!

post the latest e-mail

You asked them to quote, but they are already booked on the day (ignoring the fact that you asked her to drop her price which, yes, is shade) and now she's gone all glen close on you?

yes a loon

AMumInScotland · 19/05/2009 15:16

Definite loon. If it's a big regional company, can you find someone in the central office to forward her emails to? They would probably have a fairly strong word with her to stop bringing the company into disrepute by her strange behaviour.

oldspotraver · 19/05/2009 15:31

So you have asked her to desist form emailing you and she has ignored this ?? Doesn't this constitute harassment ?

debs40 · 19/05/2009 16:46

Well she seems to have stopped after I wrote

'STOP SENDING ME EMAILS' in the title of an email and told her I wasn't reading anything she sent

She is the general manager at the head office!

I found this out after I had asked a couple of times for details of her supervisor.

She then said 'I have several managers working under me, whose name do you want'

I have honestly never had an experience like it. She is a fruitcake

!

So she thinks she is top dog, can say what she wants and no one can challenge her {hmm}

The stroppy part of me would want to relay her emails to whoever is above her but I'm not sure she is worth th effort

sleepyeyes · 19/05/2009 16:51

Tell her then you will be contacting the CEO of the company and state that she is now harassing you.

Bathsheba · 19/05/2009 16:57

I'd simply reply to her saying - "If you can't move us on the xxth of yyyy then what is the point of this. If you CAn move us on that day, can you quote for it bearing in mind the quote I have received from the other company"...

valleysprincess · 19/05/2009 19:40

Name the company here
