...to the picture of the man on the front of today's Guardian magazine and said "dada". dh is in a huge huff, and says I'm being very unkind.

What the man with no top on? Lucky you!

snickersnack · 16/05/2009 19:19

I wish (although actually if you see the picture blown up he's a bit freaky looking - weird eyebrows). It was the yawning chasm between reality and the picture that made me laugh. I think that's why he's so huffy.

my dd saw a boy of about 14 in a school blazer once and said Daddy!! I was so embarrassed! so was the boy. She was about 20 months old.

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 16/05/2009 19:24

My ds (2 last week) pointed to a picture of Gordon Brown in today's Guardian and said "Daddy"

FabulousBakerGirl · 16/05/2009 19:25

My DS1 shouted out Daddy to quite a few blokes in Asda.

None were his father

LissyGlitter · 16/05/2009 19:35

My DD once called my ex "daddy". It was even more embarrassing as I only split with him a month or so before I became pregnant-when I got pregnant I had to actually reassure him that it wasn't his!

HuffwardlyRudge · 16/05/2009 19:38

My dd pointed to a picture of the sexy Irish one from Girls aloud and said "Mama!!"

I was delighted until a few minutes later she did the same thing with a picture of Noddy Holder .

MsMaggieBeauregarde · 16/05/2009 19:50

oooh LissyG, embarrassing!

peppapighastakenovermylife · 16/05/2009 19:51

My DS is always doing that lol. He even attached himself to some random mans leg in boots the other day and insisted it was DH - this mans little boy got rather upset. DS then looked up at said man, realised it wasnt DH and freaked out lol.

Said man was actually quite lovely looking

chegirl · 16/05/2009 19:58

My DD AND my DS1 went through a phase of calling every black man they saw 'DADDY'. In the end I used to say 'oh I'm not sure darling'.

BradfordMum · 16/05/2009 20:01

I'm a childminder and when grandad comes to collect the 3 yr old little boy, it is getting quite embarassing as the little boy has started insisting when I kiss him goodbye, I ought to kiss grandad too!
We both politely decline, but grandad did step forward the first time and began to pucker up!!
Not that this is remotely similar to the op, but I feel better for confessing all!

MeAndMyMonkey · 18/05/2009 16:46

I was quite chuffed when dd pointed to a picture of Barack Obama during the election campaign and said 'Daddy' (no physical resemblance whatsoever).
I still like it when she points to random adverts with beautiful women in (most recently Penelope Cruz)and says 'Mummy'. Bless her... she'll learn .

RedCharityBonney · 18/05/2009 17:00

Lol @ chegirl!

Thanks guys, have been feeling a bit low and I have been laughing very loudly at your posts, they have cheered me up no end!!

My little one is convinced that Rick Stein is his Grandpa, he does look a little like him.
