The freshly stuffed type you buy from M&S? We had an agreement that all meals would be freshly cooked. I take ages making each meal for him from scratch and have never given him pre-prepared or convenience food and bit annoyed she has.

Snippets · 18/05/2009 21:58

Sorry but think you're all a lazy bunch of loons.

OP posts:
Clary · 18/05/2009 22:02

Nice post there snippets

Some people were trying to be nice. Lots of people were succeeding in being funny.

I don't spot anyone very lazy (except me - reading MN when I should be ironing )

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 18/05/2009 22:03

I'm a child minder and although I try to give my mindees fresh, home-cooked food as much as possible sometiimes I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME! So shoot me! Are you totally bananas? What would you prefer? For me to play with your DC whilst a bowl of (home made) frozen soup is defrosting in the microwave or leave your DC unattended in the play room for an hour whilst I prepare a fresh meal from scratch? Your priorities are totally misplaced.

MollieO · 18/05/2009 22:04

The nicest thing anyone has said to me all day

MillyR · 18/05/2009 22:15

Snippets, what I have found most outrageous about your stance on this is that you seem to think you are on some kind of moral high ground for making pasta sauce from fresh tomatoes every single time. Are you totally unaware of the concept of only eating fresh food if it is in season? This has nothing to do with laziness.

Tomatoes are only in season for a few months a year. Why can't you just use tomatoes from a can or jar for the rest of the year like any normal person, rather than destroying the planet in some ill-conceived idea of moral parenting?

If you really cannot bear to think of someone else preparing a tin of chopped tomatoes on your behalf, because that would be too lazy, then buy a load of tomatoes in July and can them yourself.

Nighbynight · 18/05/2009 22:19

Good point Milly!
I was trying to formulate the same ideas into a coherent post last night, but tired brain just refused to cooperate.

Snippets, you have obviously missed my 2 posts trying to help you...for your own peace of mind, I think you need to close mumsnet or stop and think why you got this response. Separate the wheat from the chaff, some people have responded seriously.

OlympedeGouges · 18/05/2009 22:38

Troll

bea · 18/05/2009 22:53

Goodness me Snippets! You are really not doing yourself any favours with your last post! Some posters here are actually trying to see your side and you retort by calling fellow netters 'lazy loons'????

As already posted... you asked if you were being unreasonable with a very vague unclear OP and then you got it in the neck... !

Calm down dear... it's just mumsnet AIBU!

KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:04

Oh it is so nice to be recognised at long last

tattifer · 18/05/2009 23:08

There once was a young lazy loon
Whose cooking made everyone swoon
All her meals were from packs
And she fed her kids snacks
OH what an utter buffoon!

KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:11

Very good

tattifer · 18/05/2009 23:18

Casserole is drole,
But pasta is faster.
A pizza is cheaper than chips.
A big glass of wine
With some salmon is fine,
But better with pringles and dips.

KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:23

Are you making these yourself? You are very good if you are!

tattifer · 18/05/2009 23:26

In that case King, I shall bask in the praise. I am indeed making them up as I go

There was an odd thread about food
Where the posters all got quite rude
The poor wee OP
Had not bothered you see,
To warn them "I'll have you all sued!"

KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:28

Ooh, that one is good!

Could be adjusted for S W M N B N (spaces in case of googling lawyers ) too - but best not for legal reasons

tattifer · 18/05/2009 23:30

Yes, I always like to refer to current events in my work.

...sticks nose in air and sashays across the room smoking from a cigarette in a foot long cigarette holder...

(or should that be currant events and sachets...)

tigerdriver · 18/05/2009 23:43

Fresh pasta: "I'm in a blue funk"
Snippets cried: "My cm nanny's a punk!"
Oh what a bother,
If she has another

  • wait! She'll feed 'em both junk
KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:47

Oh you are all so clever

tigerdriver · 18/05/2009 23:49

daft question, but what is S W M N B N?

treedelivery · 18/05/2009 23:49

Ladies and gentlemen the thread develops...

There are some talented people here

Just had a kebab and 2 hours of 24. I'm such a slag. Hurrah!

KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:51

She who must not be named (to hell with the goggling lawyers ) it is the name dreamt up by MNers after we were banned from naming a certain child care guru.

If you still don't know just google mumsnet, it still comes up as one of the top links! (if that doesn't work add child guru)

KingCanuteIAm · 18/05/2009 23:52

Tree, yoooouuuuu Slattern

tigerdriver · 18/05/2009 23:54

oh, durr, got it now. thanks.

Off to bed, this poetasting has done me in.
