DD2 is 3 1/2. Until about three weeks ago she still made it into my bed by about 1 am. DH works away all week and I secretly loved this snuggle time. Now she sleeps til the early morning but I really miss her cuddling up in the night. Used to hate her not sleeping through but now really miss her snuggles.
AIBU to want her to have a nightmare or disturbed night??

YANBU

I miss my DD waking up in the night and coming in to my bed for cuddles at about 5am.

yanbu! mine is also 3 1/2 and is also sneaking and cuddling into our bed. She stopped it for a month or so - but has started it again, and like you i have no objection any more - she's dc3 and defo the last.

it's still like sleeping next to a sodding octopus though. You can't win really

careful wsihing for this ... dd2 would come in with us regulaly and it was lovely and snuggly and fab so didnt do anything to stop it and she was still coming in at aged 7yrs - has jsut stopped in fact in the last few weeks by bribery ( tamagotchi!!) twas hellish by teh end as just not enough room asnd woke knackered most days ...at its peak she didnt bother going to her bed at all but jsut went into ours at bedtime ...

Dh and I have been talking about this. DD is 2.8 and has just started sleeping in with us at about 1am EVERY night.
I really like it, 2 minutes spent picking her up and dumping her in the bed - job done. It is time together we don't get when I am at work. Dh hates it as he thinks she will suffocate or he wiggles all night keeping us all awake!

Personally I think it is a phase and hope in a year I will be missing it too.

I am (now) a bit of a go with the flow person though.....

you could just go camping every so often, and all share the same tent space. tis one of our joys when we go off for a weekend

drivinmecrazy · 14/05/2009 01:03

Camping and joy does not equal fun for me. Five star luxury and nanny would equate to joy though. Guess have to settle for very bad sleeping 3 yo cuddling and playing noughts and crosses on mummys back
