I live in a tower block and there has been a note on the rubbish chute since early afternoon that the chute was undergoing maintenance and was out of use for 4 hours. Well a lot more than 4 hours have passed and it's obvious the maintenance company (contacted out - not housing assoc) have left for the day so now no one can put out their rubbish so I have rubbish left rotting in my kitchen

Can't you walk downstairs and put your rubbish in the bin by hand, rather than leave it rotting in your kitchen?

LolaTheShowgirl · 13/05/2009 19:59

The bins are locked away in a shed til morning, as is the chute room right down the bottom of the building til the cleaners come in.

To be rotting, it must have been in your kitchen for longer than the chute has been unavailable.

izyboy · 13/05/2009 20:08

My rubbish often 'rots' for a few fays in the bin under the sink. I'm not sure I understand lola

izyboy · 13/05/2009 20:09

days

LolaTheShowgirl · 13/05/2009 20:11

ok slight exaggeration of the word 'rot' but i'm pissed I don't have anywhere to take my rubbish!

wotulookinat · 13/05/2009 22:59

Put it by the rubbish chute with a note.

I don't have a bin, just carrier bags looming about the place.

Bag it up and leave it next to the locked bin store- it's not rocket science fgs!

FatFree · 14/05/2009 10:51

Maybe investing in a bin would be an idea? Carrier bags of rubbish in my kitchen would piss me right off tbh!
