I'm a regular but I've name changed because I don't immediately want the school to be identified.
On a school trip, the son of my dd's teacher had degrading porno pics on his moblie. Another boy asked where he'd got them from, and he said- "They're my Dad's, he has a pile of mags and I photoed them".
This is hearsay- passed on by another boy to his Mum.
The teacher in question was my 10/11 year old dd's teacher, a small class with pre pubescant girls.
Another Mum said it was a free world and he's entitled to look at porn, which I agree with, but it still makes me feel uncomfortable.

The boy may have been fibbing.

The teacher's wife taught at the school too, and he sometimes put her down in front of people too, which I didn't like atall at the time.

Now I'm interpreting things in a different way of course.

How would you react?

Our dd has left now anyway, but it bothered me at the time.

Seems an extremely detailed description of the pictures considering they were seen by a boy who told his mum who told you!

Um, that's a bit of a non story really, isn't it? Loads of men look at porn, it's quite a normal thing to do. Lots of women look at porn too.

I think I might have missed something somewhere...

What I don't understand the reference to 'prepubescent girls' in your OP. Why bring that up unless the porn featured children, which would be crimial Or unless, like posie's DH, you have that knee jerk 'male primary teacher = a bit fishy' response that is sadly too prevalent.

I'm still not sure why "irrational reactions" should be aired proudly. Why not go through the little internal audit that any normal person would do, conclude that you are being momentarily reactionary/racist/sexist/just plain barking - and resolve to do better next time?

TBH, even if he is a dick and a crap husband who treats his wife like shit it doesn't necessarily make him a crap teacher.

If he was a surgeon,would you worry about him operating on your DD?

this teachers son riffled threw his dads stuff, took some pics of what he found, showed them about.. which is all hear say, for starters, your dd has left the school.. so I'm asuming this was all going on a while ago, and you are now winding this up to make it sound like the bloke is a peado..

this is potentially increadably damaging stuff to someones career and life! and I say this because you don't want the school being idetified straight away.. which implies at some point you would consider it.

and all because if all of this did happen.. it's down to him not locking his stash away quite as well as he should have.

Teachers look at porn/have sex in lots of postitions and places, have arguements with their spouses and can be narky. some might like the whole foot and spanking type thing, they get drunk and have one night stands and go clubbing and do all the things everyone else does... because they are people.. and they have lives... and teaching is just a job ( sorry folk who teach.. but you know what I'm saying).

the son had the pics on the phone jux, he had apparently taken pics of his dads stash.

BCNS I never had an intention of doing anything about this, I aired a feeling that it makes me feel strange and I know it's unreasonable.
Other people are the ones talking about paedo and lynch mobs in an entirely unfounded way
it must have effected the boys because they told their mum who was worried and told me
and I'm a person too and it made me look at him differently and all I'm doing is saying that
I do think some porn is degrading to women and some great and I think about that in relation to my dd and maybe I'm precious about her she is our only one.
I think now maybe I am a terrible person for it even crossing my mind but I never thought to do anything about it, that is just agressive posters jumpning to conclusions, they have not read all my popsts.

firstly.. I have now tried posting this 3 times and my flipping pc is playing me up.

so i'll be breif.. it's the way in which the op has been written.. and what is potentioally (sp)damaging to someones career and life is that if these unfounded rumours get out, they are basically stuffed as mud sticks.

also ( i'm now doing small posts in case I get booted again lol).. the way in which the op was written imo comes across as if you may wish to do something about it.

you feeling uncomfortable with knowing (hear say) that a teacher looks at porn.. well tbh you would have to look at a lot of teachers differently then IME. long as it doesn't affect the way they teach or treat the children.. and it's not child related porn.. it really is a non issue.
