BREATHING

It is 1.46 am here & i haven't yet slept. i've tried, but he just keeps huffing & puffing & snoring & generally keeping me awake.

just ogt up to take a sleeping tablet & make some warm milk. may try the soaf/spare bed or just smothering him in his sleep.

no....YANBU....perfectly justifiable

gingernutlover · 12/05/2009 07:26

did you try kicking him hard (and then pretend to be asleep )

DuffyMoon · 12/05/2009 07:30

or pinching his nose (and then pretend to be asleep)

Cladon · 12/05/2009 07:46

Don't know if you're still awake but is there any way you can listen to an iPod or to the radio through headphones really quietly? I find it sort of distracts your ears from other people's noisy sleeping

letswiggle · 12/05/2009 07:54

earplugs

MANATEEequineOHARA · 12/05/2009 08:00

Oh god, I am so happy to be single! ExH used to snore in the most disgusting way, it was truely dreadful. I hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.

Strawbezza · 12/05/2009 08:08

Agree earplugs are the answer.

lottiebunny · 12/05/2009 11:08

YABU because then my DP will have to murder me

SweetEm · 12/05/2009 11:14

YANBU - in fact I could have written your post OP!

Everyone thinks it is me BU as my DH is just heavy breathing as opposed to full-on snoring . I'm glad I'm not alone.

MummyDragon · 12/05/2009 11:18

Get him some olbas oil to clear out his horrid sinuses. YANBU.

clumsymum · 12/05/2009 11:19

I use sponge earplugs now, It's the only way I can get a decent nights sleep.

If I can't find them, or go away without them or something, I find this helps...

Count his breaths. Lay quietly next to him, and REALLY concentrate on his breating, count evey breath he takes in. Eventually you WILL bore yourself to sleep, honestly.

wasabipeas · 12/05/2009 11:44

Yellow EAR earplugs.
They are about £1.50 from boots, but I'd pay ten times that for the sleep I manage to get with them...

Morloth · 12/05/2009 11:44

Earplugs are your friend. Bio-Ears from Boots are the most comfortable I have found. BLISS.

smee · 12/05/2009 12:01

I do ear plugs too. Essential if I'm to stay out of prison..

YorkshireRose · 12/05/2009 12:10

Def YANBU. Being kept awake by snoring would definitely be a bulletproof defence in court!

My DH snores like a road drill. His own mother said she would out a pillow over his face if she were me when she heard the noise produced when he fell asleep on the sofa!

I find good earplugs are the only answer. The best I have found are the wax earplugs from Boots called Muffles. They cut out EVERYTHING!

Also have got DH to use the Breathe Easy strips in the past. They definitely lessened the noise but he found them a bit uncomfortable after a while.

Also excess weight is a factor with DH. Does your DH need to lose a few pounds.

kickassangel · 13/05/2009 01:09

sorry i posted & ran when you were all so sympathetic, the sleeping tablet suddenly kicked in, so i went to bed & got about 5 hours sleep - yay.

dh thin as a rake, but has asthma, allergies etc, so generally a very snotty guy (nice).
i also snore, but he could sleep for britain, so it's only myself that i wake up!
