Last weekend we were in the children's pool at the local leisure centre, when we noticed something floating. We all got out and we saw lots of little "bits" floating around.

Now either the parent didn't realise (I'm thinking unlikely), or got out without saying anything.

It was absolutely disgusting and we all had to leave the pool.

I know these things happen, but it would have been nice if they'd told someone!

Oh my God if it had been me I would have left it in the pool and scarpered. I'd have been so embarrased.

You're also assuming it was a child

toobusytothink · 11/05/2009 17:49

ooo yuck. even the strongest curry in the world wouldn't be enough to excuse that namebacon!!!

I know it would be embarrasing but I'm sure I would still mention it.

eeeewww.

How about this? I used to work in a cinema and once found a poo in the aisle. I kid you not.

nametaken · 11/05/2009 17:54

When I was young (old fart that I am) if a kid did a poo in the pool the lifeguard just used to fish it out with a net and we'd all carry on.

when someone did a poo in the Center Parcs pool they evacuated the whole area, emptied the pool, and refilled. Which took ALL day. Bit of an overkill I thought.

toobusytothink · 11/05/2009 17:56

that is grim - maybe someone carried their dog in in their handbag. But even then you'd think someone would have noticed at the time ...

nametaken I wish it had been that simple - but it wasn't the fishing out kind of poo. A big neat one would have been much simpler for the poor staff.

yuk - We went to a indoor activity centre once and a kid did a poo in the tube slide that led down into the ball pond. It was a total poo disaster area. The parents did not tell the staff.

wobblymummy · 11/05/2009 18:05

when i was a nanny [too long ago to remember! my lovely charge weed down the slide at an activity centre, being a responsible nanny i decided to catch the wee in my sock as it dribbled down the slide to stop it going in to the ball pool, trouble is i was wearing the sock!
