Oh don't worry. I've done a grand total of 20 parties now and honestly lack of response is the norm. They all turn up on the day though. If you are anxious (say it's an event where you've booked an entertainer or got a set number of places for something), send out a reminder this week or check with a few mums on your way in to school.

quite common for people not to bother replying - very rude, but not uncommon unfortunately.
I actually make a point of going up to the parents of those I've not had a reply from to ask them if they got the invitation. Often I get a mumbled "Yes, they're going" but at least I know one way or another.

I'm afraid that in my experience the no-replies are also no shows. Which I suppose is marginally less of a pain than the reverse.
