I was looking for an article on Katie Price's little boy, Harvey and came across this website:

The fucking knobs make me so angry. How can anyone in their right mind say that about a little boy?

Link

P.S. It's not nice what they said so don't look if you're easily upset. Very racist.

YANBU

But don't think its helpful to include the link really, you're only going to get more people reading whatever crap is written on there.

I am not going to look at it

laza222 · 10/05/2009 20:09

Awful!

mrsmaidamess · 10/05/2009 20:09

It's a website for Antisemitics and White Supremasists (sp) by the look of it.

Actually memo, I disagree.

We sort of know this stuff exists, but unless its in our face we do nothing to combat it. Looking at that site is an important reminder of why these issues are worth fighting for.

The hate and bigotry that exists in the world will carry on, but we can at least be aware of it and be prepared to fight it. And I do not come across this stuff in my daily life, but it shocks me that it clearly flourishes in our society. A real reality check for me.

This has reminded me just how pernicious and evil these ideas are, and how morally bankrupt these people are, and how they need to challenged at every opportunity.

Evil flourishes where good people do nothing. We can't always fight the good fight, but we can give it a go when we have the strength.

Interesting how nobody is allowed to post as response, eh?

chegirl · 10/05/2009 23:36

This is the other side of the internet.

Its fantastic fun and and we can get loads of support and find stuff we want to buy but

It also give a huge, world wide and free platform for this sort of bollox.

I havnt looked at the link because I am not in the mood for it TBH. My kids are black and one has SN and its too late for me to get upset and outraged. The fact that I couldnt respond and there is feck all we can do about it would prove just too frustrating right now.

The web is full of this sort of crap. Its vile and I wish there was something that could be done. It seems that the web is somehow immune from the usual laws.

Is that right? Does anyone know?

I had no luck getting something removed from a networking site last year.

mrsboogie · 11/05/2009 00:14

I did look at it and it is extremely offensive and I would question the motives of anyone spreading this type of thing about to be honest.

Can you please put a but more of a warning on that link please?

As a hijab wearing Muslim, I am frequently reminded of people's ignorance, but to click on a link like that was a bit shocking, especially as dd is mixed race. It's just a horrible reminder of how some people view our family.

I'm all for No Platform, personally, as ime, people with such views aren't usually content to just air them on the internet.

creamcaramella · 11/05/2009 03:32

But he's sooooo cute. It didn't annoy me at all. It's unbelievable that people claiming superiority could talk such jargon. I almost laughed because it's absolutely ludicrous. I'm just glad they'r a minority and hopefully ,someday people who think this way will become extinct. I mean look at the world now, we've come a long way... and i'm optimistic there'll be better days. They are the victims cuz their hate is eating them up and there's nothing they can do about it. The different races to me, is part of the wonders of the world and makes it beautiful. And mixed-race people are so beautiful.

mamadiva · 11/05/2009 03:37

Cream I know it probably was'nt meant too but that sounded so unbelievably patronising in my head!

"And mixed-race people are so beautiful."

Mixed race peopel are no more beautiful than black or white people because skin colour does'nt matter there are ugly, fat, thin, beautiful, tall and small people all over the world no matter what their 'race' is.

creamcaramella · 11/05/2009 03:50

mama, I didn't say mixed-race people are more beautiful than people of other races. The forum kept on emphasizing somethin was wrong about being mixed-raced and i'm just saying there isn't.

seeker · 11/05/2009 06:12

I hesitate to post as I didn't want to keep this on the front page, but I couldn't let the statement that people have the right to say this vile stuff go unchallenged.

Yes, people have a right to express opinions that might be offensive. The do NOT have the right to make personal attacks or to advocate racial violence. Please do not do not think that freedom of speech means the right to say anything in any context.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 11/05/2009 06:28

Is that from a legal point of view seeker? and is that in the USA as well as the UK?

JollyPirate · 11/05/2009 06:29

It's also a shock to read the Yahoo message boards (as I occasionally do) - there are some really nasty people out there.

I do not defend the right of anyone who wants to publicize their nasty little opinions much as I believe in free speech. Free speech comes with responsibilities as well as rights.
