Why does every piece of electrical equipment my DH brings into the house have to have a million yards of fecking cable?
And then why does he feel the need to arrange the Humax/cd/dvd/whatever on the coffee table because there isnt enough of the shitty cable to reach the shelves.
It looks like someone has dripped multi coloured spaghetti across the floor and up the wall. Aaaaargh!

It's a male thing.. they all seem to have OCD with cables..

the worst are the men who haven't touched a cable for a few months.. thus resulting in the need for a rearrange or a " I can make it work better if I juggle cables"..
These times result in many visits to the "man" drawer, where his treasures are kept.. fiddling, swearing... moving things.. contemplating going on the roof.. with a step ladder.. and then putting all electrical equipment they way it was in the first place and yet a day or two has passed.

I feel your pain!

I have one of these DHs too. Agree with BCNS it is a male thing. Not as bad as my brother though- bought a sub-woofer off ebay and it was so big (they have a tiny house) they have to use it as a coffee table/extra seat. They also have cables where a hall carpet should be! When we visit they open the door and immediately say "mind the cables"...

my worst experience of a cable moment.. was when setting up the wireless .. yes ladies wireless connection for the internet.

much grunting later.. he left for work.. leaving cables all over and a non working wirless.

it took me an hour to clear up.. plug one thing in.. one thing and it worked..

he came home from work.. and hurrumphed that I had tideied it away.. until.. I showed him the internet running...

he looked around.. look on.. and all I said was.. " it's fecking wireless!"

zanz1bar · 10/05/2009 19:01

LOL at the wireless BCNS, sounds sooo familar. Why does something that provides wireless connection need so many cables?

And have you seen the price of these supa dupa cables, FFS its only a bit of wire, AND i aam sure DAVE sounds and looks no more interesting.

And another thing.... WHY do we have to save all the boxes this electrical stuff comes in? the attic is full of old computer boxes. I don't need to save the packaging for my new fridge.

I'm not sure about why we need to save the boxes.. but what I do know.. is they are not put to good storage use...because storing all the bits of polystyrene(sp),little plastic bagsand the twisty things is not putting to good use.

and have you seen the faces these men folk pull.. when you suggest a tip run with said empty boxes??

but I do know why they have to have the super duper expensive £60 per 30cm type cable...
I have been told the answer.. it is something to do with atmospherics.. this is also the main reason for anything electrical going wrong..

BCNS · 10/05/2009 19:21

atmospherics is a standing joke in this household.. tis the answer to all
